Ditto, I'm saving as much cash as I can here in the Northeast then moving the hell outta here when it's time to buy a house.

Everything's relative, if you move out of there expect for your wages to take a hit. However, there are some places that you just get a ton of house for the money. We're building a house in West Michigan and I bet it would run $700,000 plus in Northern New Jersey where my old corporate headquarters were at. There is no way I can see people from the midwest or south moving into the northeast or SoCal. If I took my $50,000 of equity out of my house, I might have enough for a downpayment on a trash can to live in there.
