    Sleeping problem

Everyone says sleep is important for everything--from weight loss to happiness, sleep is needed.

Here's the problem I run into.

It doesnt matter if I go to bed at 10, 11 or 2, I wake up at the same time every morning. Another problem is that even if I get 8 hours of sleep after going to bed at 2am, im still suuuuper tired the next morning, whereas if I only get 7-8 hours after going to bed at 10ish, Im fine.

Is this true for you guys? When you're super tired in the morning, how do you snap out of it when you have a busy/boring day ahead of you?

Maybe you should have a sleep test done, where they monitor you while you sleep. It doesn't sound like you have sleep apnea, but maybe there's something else going on that can be traced to your sleep patterns (or lack thereof).

      I think that's normal.

Your body needs time to adapt to sleep patterns. Therefore, if you normally go to sleep around 10'ish and get 7-8 hours of sleep and then change that to 2am with 7-8 hours of sleep, you'll likely be much more tired after the 2am bedtime because your body isn't used to that change (even if you get the same number of hours of sleep).

I've been like that for years. No matter when I go to bed, I get up at the same time. If I wake up on my own with no alarm, I'm good with whatever sleep I got. If the alarm wakes me up, I'm tired. It's weird. I usually beat my alarm by 1 minute 4 out of 5 days a week, so I'm normally tired one work day a week. And yes, I realize I'm weird.

I'm the same way, if I wake up before my alarm clock by even a couple of seconds I am fine. However, if the alarm wakes me up I am tired until like noon.

With me it's weird. When I set an alarm I almost always wake up a minute or so before the alarm.

As far as weekends, I sleep till I'm rested and never wake up the same time as I do for work.

I have the same problem. I can go to bed at any time, but in the morning I am ridiculously tired. Another problem is that I can't wake up in the morning, even when I realize I need to. I'll lay there thinking "I really need to get up so I'm not late", but I just can't, and I'll fall back asleep. I've been late/missed school like 8 times because of this. I tried getting more sleep, but same thing still happens. Last wednesday I went to sleep at 6:30 at night and I was woken up by my alarm at 6:45. You'd think 12 hours is enough, but I was still dead tired.

I can't win, I'll lay in bed for 2 hours trying to fall asleep, and then I can't wake up. I'm convinced I have a sleeping disorder.

I very rarely go to bed before 2:30AM... and I'm usually exhausted for about an hour after I wake up around 11.

                    Re: Sleeping problem

I work until 2am, go to sleep at 3am then wake up at 8am for school. So needless to say, I'm pretty tired throughout the week.

Also, I think the alarm clock thing has to do with dreaming/heaviness of your sleep. If your alarm clock wakes you up then it snaps you out of your dream and it takes you longer to fully wake up. If you wake up on your own then that means that your dream is over and your ready to get up. Or something like that...

Yeah, you might want to get that one checked out.

I am on Friday. It took me 2 weeks to convince my mom to schedule an appointment, and she still thinks I'm just making it up.

It's funny that this topic is up this morning since I just got home from a Sleep Study for sleep apnea at 7am. I've had sleep problems since I was a child and will probably end up having to have a mask for sleeping at night now. If it means I don't wake up tired and miserable, it will be worth looking and breathing like Darth Vader at night. I was very surprised at the comfort level at the sleep center. They had every amenity with the exception of internet and it was very comfortable.

My Dad actually wears one of those mask things with the machines and tubes. It has helped him out a lot. Good luck, man!

As for sleeping problems, well, it's 5:14am and I still haven't gone to bed. Lots on my mind, I hate this.

They let me try one on and I didn't mind it really. I told my wife that deep down all women had a secret urge to sleep with Darth Vader. She died laughing.
