Re: data recovery from an HD
So you can get the data froma HD that crashed? I've been holding on to my old HD for about 2 years now cause it has some important stuff on there that I need. When my HD crased, it made a horrible clicking sound like it refused to read. My ******* kinda peeled off the protective tape on the back and looked inside. Is it completely dead or do I still have hope?http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: data recovery from an HD
How bad is it? Errors? Does the computer even read the drive? Notebook HDD? Does the HDD make grinding noises?
Depending how bad it is you might have a solution or two.
But if is bad expect to pay some really big bucks to get it done professionally.Comment

no errors. The computer doesn't read the drive. It is an external usb hd. I put it in my desktop as a slave and it worked last night but this morning it wasn't again..........it's making a ticking noise. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: data recovery from an HD
You might get lucky with this like I did. Mine didn't read for a couple hours and all sudden appeared.
Ticking noise... seems like the drive isn't spinning.
$500 is a lot. I did it for less.
There are some nice places online that do it for a lot less as well if it is that important to you. Good luck.Comment

Re: data recovery from an HD
I had my HD crash on me a few years ago, and GetDataBack for NTFS helped me recovery most of my data. I'm sure they have a trial version that allows you to scan corrupted HD's (but it won't let you recovery any of your data unless you buy the program). Either way, it's worth a shot.Comment
