What an idiot...
AT first I was embarresed to think that this guy was Australian. He was born in the USA though.
Either way, he's got to be the biggest "look at me" idiot I've ever seen...

Re: What an idiot...
I mean I guess whatever. There are games like GTA that are less specific about what kind of crowd their targeting at killing in their games (though there are a lot of cops, prostitutes, and homeless), and then there are games like Conflict: Desert Storm and JFK Reloaded that are targeted at specific high-profile assassinations. I suppose the main difference is that this game is just a quick third-party standoff in order for this attention-whore to bank what he can and get publicly known. This guy is an idiot, but I don't see this as being much different from the other games out there, other than that it's too soon and shouldn't be so specific to what a horrible tragedy this event was.
EDIT: Oh wow, I didn't read the second page until now. I agree, what an idiot.Last edited by Blzer; 05-16-2007, 02:07 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -
Re: What an idiot...
yeah he's an attention seeking moron but this always happens after a high profile mass media covered tragedy (Sep 11 games, Postman rampage games etc) so i guess it was bound to happen sooner rather then later. Doesn't make it right though.
Why wouldn't the hosting site just remove it if it was causing such an uproar?Comment

Re: What an idiot...
"I've done offensive things before but they're not usually this popular," Lamourn said, adding that he made the game "because it's funny".
"No one listens to you unless you've got something sensational to do." he said. "And that's why I feel sympathy for Cho Seung-hui. He had to go that far."
Someone just punch this guy in the face. Break his face. The bruises and broken bones should ensure he gets enough attention....if that's what he craves.
Just a complete moron.Comment

Re: What an idiot...
Finally read it. Wow is all I have to say. I'm curious to know what his parents think honestly. This is what households are raising all across America. It's more present in society than ever. Crazy stuff. At first, I thought it would be like that other one that was pulled from the gaming joint. People just desire to get in the limelight so hard nowadays. Sick society.......Comment

Re: What an idiot...
Well Collective Soul could put an end to this game damn fast if they were so motivated. That being said people need to grow some thicker skin, this guy is an *** yes, but in 2 weeks we'll completely forget he ever existed if he simply ignore him. He's just a troll with some extremely crude programming skills, the news media and those people outraged by this are giving him what he wants. No need for any sort of uproar.Comment

Re: What an idiot...
I'm not really sure where I stand on this one. The obvious reaction is the one that has been generally stated. The actions of this kid are very tasteless and inappropriate. He did his homework in regards to researching the game and providing authenticity, but I think it certainly shows an utter lack of class and respect for those involved.
On the other hand, I've played, and enjoyed, games like Grand Theft Auto, and while the developers of such games have received criticism, they also have been praised and rewarded financially for their efforts. The media are in the business of profiting off tragedy, and in a sense, this kid is just skipping the corporate step and promoting himself and his product independently.
In general, this is nothing new, and after his fifteen minutes expire, the collective interests of people will flock to other disgraces and aberrations being conducted elsewhere.
The most interesting aspect of the entire situation to me is how the Internet makes this sort of exposure possible. Some previously unknown kid living in Australia creates a very rudimentary game that re-creates a tragic incident that happened on another continent, and suddenly it's being discussed all over the world.Enjoy football?
