    Weight Vest Question

Has anyone ever used a weight vest for workouts? If so which brand is good? What weight size should I start off with? Thanks

    Re: Weight Vest Question

I used one in college, we'd do our big man drills wearing one. Stuff like the Mikan drill, dunk the ball 20 straight times going block-to-block, etc. Never any contact drills.

It helped like crazy, I should probably look into getting my own. I have no clue what brand it was but I think it was 30 lbs.

Shop high-performance USA-made weight vests trusted for 25+ years by athletes, military & firefighters. Explore V-Force, V-MAX & BOX vests at WeightVest.com.

I think this is the one we used. If not, it was very similar. I had no idea they were so expensive, I dunno if I wanna pay $160+ for one.

It helps with your explosiveness though which I love. You can't really get that from squats and DL's, even at high reps and low sets.

Thanks for the info. Did it help with weight loss?

I've always been trying to put on weight, especially when I was playing ball in college, so I can't answer that.

We used it for explosive leaping, so all the workouts we did were tailored towards that. I don't know how it would work as a fat-loss device.
