University of Maryland Baltimore County

I'm Interdisciplinary Studies major which allows me to patch together sports, the media, and psychology. Finished courses in Sports Economics and Sport & Media this semester.

I'm currently at University of Toledo for history, but am planning to transfer to Ohio State soon. I didn't have the grades coming out of high school to get into the Columbus campus (for those unaware OSU is really trying to improve their academic image), and had some growing up to do. I wouldn't reccomend any prospective history majors heading to Toledo, the University President is trying to phase out things like history and put the medical sciences and engineering ahead of humanities and social sciences.

For those of you in history, what's your favorite area/field of history?

Teach, i would love to teach and coach.

I was going to do History but I hate teaching. If I would've done it I probably would've focused on African/African American history.

Western New England College School of Law, I finish in December and will walk in May. My 'major' is pretty obvious, but I have a focus in Criminal Law and am well versed in Juvenile Law and Representation.

How does it work there though? Do you have to be a teacher to coach?

In Canada, you're a high school teacher and then you just coach--you dont get paid.


Im the most familiar with Portuguese, French, Spanish, Latin American and American history--I especially like Slavery and Pop Culture classes in American History

Where'd you get that from? In NC, at least, coaches don't get paid extra... just the teaching salary.

My basketball coaches get paid. Not much considering coaching adds a good 3 hours a day.

GA and VA they get paid extra, not much at all however. Im obviously not going to do it for the money. If that were the case I would do business with a focus on real estate.
