Re: Seeking advice from OS'ers: Where to relocate - Atlanta, Cincinnati, Erie
Yikes, I'll be sure to lube up. Sorry about the Brad line, won't happen again Brandon.
Seriously though, what would be a good city to live in for 6 months? Is Marietta a decent enough town to live in? I know it is outside the perimeter belt, but is that somewhere I want to go from a "having a life" perspective? What about Smyrna, Sandy Springs, or any of the neighboring towns?
Think I'll be able to find a pad with a 6 month lease?Comment

So on a scale of 1 to 10, how dumb would I be if I found a place to live between Buckhead and Midtown, and had to commute every day to southern Marietta?
It is 14 miles away from the office, but I would need to take route 85 West, then 75 North. Would this be like sitting in a parking lot every day? I have no idea here. I am only asking because this would be inside the dreaded 285 beltway Brandon was referring to.Comment

I'm sure it does. My point for commenting was that it shouldn't be #1 on the priority list, which is how I took the comment I replied to. There are hot girls everywhere.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames

Smyrna is very sketchy in places, it's where I work. I would certainly avoid living anywhere around South Cobb Dr. or Atlanta Rd. To put it simply, you'll see a lot of billboards in Spanish in those areas. Look into the Vinings area, it's gonna be pricey, but it's not going to be nearly as bad if you lived somewhere in the city. The same goes for somewhere like Sandy Springs. Not sure if you are looking for a house, townhouse or apartment to rent, but there is so much real estate all over the place, you'll have no problem finding somewhere to live if you are making decent change.
That really wouldn't cause you much of a problem, as you would always being going away from traffic. It can be a bitch at times, but it isn't nearly as bad as if you were trying to go from OTP to somewhere like Midtown.Comment
