Re: Craig's List
I really prefer using Craigslist over Ebay. I just sold my PS2 and all my games to a woman who wanted to purchase a birthday gift for her boyfriend. I just gave her directions to my house, but I guess meeting in a public place is a better idea.
The key to selling things on Craigslist is being able to clearly and accurately describe the product you are selling, and always try to provide photos. I even post the photos on ImageShack and link them in my item posting instead of using their photo hosting/posting service. This allows you to post bigger and better quality pictures that will catch potential buyers' eyes.Ryan Spencer

Re: Craig's List
After a bit of viewing, this site is pissing me off.
I'm about to move to the Charlotte area and I see all this stuff that would look great furnishing my new apartment...and I can't get it yet haha. A nice dining room table and that sort of thing would be great to pick up!Comment

Re: Craig's List
Ok, Im getting irritated and am hoping someone here can give me a tip or two. I listed Saints Row 2 over there in Games & Toys and thought nothing of it at the time. Normally I let 20 minutes pass, search for my listing by title and make sure it appears and everything is correct and thats where my problem started. From the home page I search for Saints Row 2 and my listing isnt there, search for Saints Row, Saints, Row, Row 2, Saints 2, Saints Row 2 for sale and nothing, notta damn thing. I then decided to browse the Games & Toys section and sure as ****, there is my listing, now how the hell does that happen? In other words, my listing cant be found by any normal search, only through someone browsing and lets be honest, who the hell browses Craigs List instead of searching for what they want? My question, is there something Im doing wrong here that is not allowing it to come up in a general search? I cant take the "2" off as its the sequel but I guess I could write it as "two" and see what happens. Any advice would be appreciated.
EDIT- I changed it to Saints Row Two and still nothing, even if I search for the exact title it wont come up. The market really needs an alternative to ebay, Craigs List is a ****ing joke, ebay/paypal kill you with their ever increasing fee strutcture and there is nothing else out there. What the hell happened to Craigs List anyways? It used to atleast list the damn item and make it accessible to the public, now its pure garbage.Last edited by The Chef; 11-22-2008, 12:18 AM.Comment

Re: Craig's List
I'm not sure how craiglist's search feature works, but I've always had problems searching for items I've posted.
I get email responses so I know they are up there. It's still irritating, I agree.
It seems that you have more luck just searching within the section your posting was in. Lots and lots of people use craigslist and it's possible that the search feature just searches for more typical items under Saints, Row, and 2.
Ok, I'll stop lying. I don't know what the hell craigslist does, but if you published it it's up there. Just don't think about trying to respond to yourself because you'll never know you were selling a damn thing."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Craig's List
I've bought and sold items off of CL before. It's great. No more worrying about fees and payment holds. Just choose a very busy place, or if you feel safer tell them to meet you in front of the library or something.
I've never had any issues there...Comment

Re: Craig's List
The listing finally appeared in the search listings after I contacted them and posted a message about it in the forums there. I have no clue what went wrong initially but its appearing finally, I doubt I get any feedback from it but I figure it cant hurt to try since its free.Comment
