    Tight Calves

I've been running an hour every day, and still my calves, not even half way through, start tightening up to the point its almost impossible to move without pain. I continue to fight through it, and something rest for a minute or two, but its just super tight.

I cant seem to recover from it. Anyone know what I can do?

    Re: Tight Calves

I get this sometimes as well. Honestly I would say make sure you are hydrated, and make sure you get potassium.

Are you stretching before? What type of stretching?

Personally I do not static stretch before I run, I like to do active stretching. I don't know the right word for it, but I mean exercises such as high knees, butt kicks, etc. I don't know the name for the rest but I take about 5 minutes to go through these stretches to get my blood going and a little sweat.

You might not be drinking enough water. I used to have my Calves cramp up when I was dehydrated.

Stretch before and after and eat a banana.

Everyone has already mentioned the most likely causes, but your form and or your shoes could be contributing to the pain as well.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
