I often find it annoying to go to some other sites because of the immaturity, foul language and lack of respect to other posters. I also find it annoying to go to a theatre on a Friday night to hear teenagers giggle, play games on their cell phones and kick my seat. Maybe I'm just getting crusty in my old age (35). Just wanted to give props to OS.

OS = Super Mature
I think the mods do a great job in maintaining civility in an internet forum. Its a very tough job and its refreshing to come to OS and be able to debate and discuss things in a mature way. I would rather come to a site that has strict guidelines than a site that allows a lot of immature people who take potshots at other posters while hiding behind a computer screen. Too many people on the internet would never say things to another person face to face but have no problems flaming someone while hiding behind a computer screen.

Re: OS = Super Mature
It is amazing how generally mature this forum is especially in light of the target audience. When I came here I was used to a forum where mods would do as they please and threads about one's bathroom habits were the norm. Thank god I found the true utopia of sports message boards.Comment

Re: OS = Super Mature
As much as the moderators help out, new forum members coming on board have a general respect for the English language and proper usage of capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. I mean, this is very crucial for the overall outlook of a message board, especially when comparing it to a very lackluster 2K Sports forum that not only has little to no moderation, but members are using text-speak to communicate. It really begins to rub off as negative and even "childish," and doesn't quite help the maturity level afterward.
With that, I thank the members just as much as the moderators. It begins with the posts, and most of them don't have to be looked over, because the message board's atmosphere on its own shows that gramatical intelligence is nearly a necessity when it comes to posting on this site. It's really an unwritten rule, yet 99% of users on here obey it.
But, above all, it really does begin with moderation, and I think that you guys are doing pretty damn okay. Thanks, guys. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
