The only bill I could see a college student in a dorm having is a cell phone, and for lowerclassmen, their parents take care of that. At least for the people I know. We don't have jobs and stuff.

I'll be going to school in January (as far as I know) and will be working 40 hours a week and going to school full-time. And, I will have my fair share of bills as well.

I didn't say I don't have money. I have plenty of money. I'm lazy, that's why. Do you think I ever mail ****? I never mail ****. I don't own envelopes, stamps... I don't even know how to send mail out of this freakin' residence hall. I missed the opportunity on getting $9 on the "free" HDMI cable I bought because I didn't send in the mail-in rebate. I just happen to be lazy.

But yes, I do have a job. And for the next two years, I will be getting $12,000/year.

Interesting, you say you will take advantage if there is free money on the table but you won' take advantage of a mail in rebate of $9 because you have to do a little work. If you can even consider it work.

I say we create a new list, the "Cheap Bastards" list, or something along those lines. Put those that were bought donations on that list. IMO, that list would be worse than the Dirty Dozen.

Like I said in my Oscar winning post... when there's a free offer on the table (without some scam behind it), perhaps aside from morals or ethics, there is no reason it shouldn't be taken. You walk by and somebody is at a hot dog stand handing out $20 bills... you're just going to walk by? Ohhhh man, yes, you are so cheap for doing that. You are unworthy, desperate padawan. You are worse than the people that walk past it.

There were many candidates for this event, not just the people that won it. That said, it shouldn't be my fault that dkgojackets picked me, therefore I'm considered a cheap bastard. How about because I decided to run for it I'm considered a cheap bastard. That said, everybody that ran was trying to take the same opportunity for granted as I did.

Besides, I can't stress enough that I am normally not that kind of guy to take money without paying it back. I just can't do it. That said, I'm planning to pay him back. If he is going to be so forceful as to say this was a Christmas gift for me, then I will step aside and take the donation. Just the same, you all should consider it to be the same way.

I've always wanted to donate, you guys know that. All I needed was to enter the 16 digit number on the ol' card. Only problem is, parents wouldn't allow for it. They just wouldn't. Nothing I could do about it. I'm not being "cheap". I'm being human. You guys would have done the same thing.

Blzer, you have to stand up to the p's every so often...........it sucks that they don't let you be independent, unless I am wrong. Just basing this off of what you tell us. They should allow you to be a bit more in control of your own life now, you are an adult. How old are you BTW, and not meaning this in a jerky way either.

Agreed, but I can hardly feel like I can even get a 360 this summer because they will both be on me about that's what I will be sitting in front of the whole summer, it's a waste of my time, blah blah blah school is more important (though it's ****ing summer). You know, the works.

By the time I potentially get the system, I will be 20. Wow, that sounds old.

Right now? Living with a roommate...

Rent.
Cell phone bill.
Credit card bill.
Dentist bill.
Prior student loan from Texas Tech before moving to CA.
Groceries.
Satellite bill.

When/if I move to the dorms, I might have all those same bills except satellite.
