Karma!
Hey guys, I've got a great story about why you should always help people whenever and however you can, even if it seems like there's "nothing in it for you". Sometimes though, often when you least expect it, it can pay off. I guess maybe it's Karma? As you guys probably know I am always trying to help people with technical issues both here and/or on Fairdale's site whenever I can because, well I dunno why, I guess I feel a need to make myself feel like I accomplished something and it's nice to see someone who is really struggling with something to get it working with my help as I know a lot of folks aren't as handy as this technology stuff and they just want to get their stuff working and enjoy it. I never expect anything from doing so, just the simple reward of knowing I helped some nameless person somewhere in this country or the next, to get over a technical hurdle is reward enough in itself.
Anyways, recently I helped someone here or over on Fairdale's site, not sure which, in regards to getting their 360 rosters working. Well after they were good to go the guy wrote me back and told me he worked in the gaming industry and he'd be happy to give me something in thanks if I wanted a game or something for helping him out. So I told him I'd like a discount on a Wireless Wheel for my 360 as I knew asking for something like that was a bit "over the top". Well he said he could get me one and would send it over. And in that email he gave me an Xbox Live subscription for a year which worked quite nicely. I thanked him and entered the code and voila, it worked!
So I had nearly forgotten about it and today I get a call from the mail room at work. I go in and there is my 360 Wireless Wheel! So of course I wrote the guy back and gave him a hearty thanks.
I just wanted to let everyone who are tech heads out there who help strangers on this forum or other forums to know this story to let you know that the good you are doing is recognized and can sometimes really end up with a nice reward. So keep up the good deeds, it'll come back around!
