    Re: Phobias

Sleep paralysis is scary as hell. It used to happen to me all the time, usually on weekends or in the summer when I knew I didn't have to wake up for anything in the morning. I'd open my eyes and just lay there, unable to move or speak. I wanted to scream but I simply couldn't. I couldn't even move my eyes. It felt like I was a prisoner trapped inside my own body. Definitely not a good feeling. Sometimes I was afraid to fall asleep because of this. Hasn't happen to me in a while though... *Knock on wood..*

I'm also afraid of needles, blood (not the blood itself, but the way it pumps through your body creeps me out for some reason) and when people take my pulse or taking somebody elses. Again, the pulse one isn't because I think I won't have one or anything like that... Just the way it feels creeps me out. The odd pumping feeling. Don't like it.

      Acrophobia- Fear of heights.

However, I can fly on an airplane with no problems.
Same here, although I have never been on a plane. I don't think I would be scared. I will not ride roller coasters though.

      Sleep paralysis
      Scary, scary, stuf.

      I also fear this!

I'm suprised at how many people have sleep paralysis. Must be real common...like gonorrhea. I thought I had something rare. Sleep paralysis that is, not the piss-burns.

LOL. Yeah... When I was first getting it I tried explaining it to some close friends and my girlfriend. They had no idea what I was talking about so I ended up thinking it was just me and I had some weird issue. Glad to see a small portion of the OS crowd also has the same experience.

I don't get sleep paralysis or anything, but I hate it when I wake up with my arm asleep... dead weight that you can just swing around... it's really creepy... and until it wakes up, I'm always a little worried I've lost the feeling in that particular arm.

Same people had no idea what I was talking about and I either posted a thread on OS or someone had made one right around the same time. It's a scary feeling I know that. I haven't had it happen to me in a while.

Two people in the room across from mine last year had sleep paralysis.

I had never heard of it before then, but then they both started talking about it and it freaked the hell out of me.

I was explaining it to people for years. I finally decided to do some internet research on it and ran across what it was. Told my doctor, they ran some test on me and he diagnosed me with it. For some odd reason, after he told me what it was, it rarely comes. It was almost like...closure.
