Thanks brother... I told the Dr. by no means am I leaving this Academy, so he's just going to keep my cortizone'd up until the 23 weeks is up, at which point I'll get the surgery before I start my FTO training. It's tough, no doubt about it.

I told one of the Academy staff, if both of my arms break off, I won't quit... I'll just be the strongest torso to ever graduate the academy, lol.

23 weeks. So I'm just getting started. I'll be doing the remainder of the academy w/ cortizone shots every week... torn RC in right shoulder..

But at least i'll be able to continue.

If the arms break off just have them permanently sewn onto your body into a Randy Orton pose. Problem solved lol

Glad to hear you're surviving, and hope the arm doesn't hurt too much. Way to play through the pain though! Just remember: Pain heals, Chicks Dig Scars, Glory lasts forever!

Yeah, I'm still going no doubt. I won't be denied in this. It hurts pretty badly, and they've given me pain meds to try to ease some of it... but it still isn't very pleasant.

If they took my 360 away... it's on... lol. Haven't gotten to play it since 2 weeks ago though.

I went to an extended academy because I worked full time. So I was there Mon., Wed. Thurs. nights (four hours each night) and all day Saturday for a year. FTO was the real bi#ch, especially if you got a jerk training officer for one of the phases.

I went to an extended academy because I worked full time. So I was there Mon., Wed. Thurs. nights (four hours each night) and all day Saturday for a year. FTO was the real bi#ch, especially if you got a jerk training officer for one of the phases.

Yeah the academy is good, but nothing prepare you for the real thing, At least that is what I been told by my cop friends. Good luck Will and try not to break any more things.

I had 5 great FTO's and then a horrible 6th. He was a great cop, just a horrible teacher. Thank god it was solo beat so I only had 1 week with him before I was on my own.

Well it's not the field training in and of itself...but like Jim and Matt stated, get the wrong FTO and it could be miserable.
My first FTO thought he was a Training Day/Fort Apache/French Connection hybrid. When he would pull some of his over the top crap....I felt like giving HIM a Motorola shampoo(on the job guys and perps will know what I'm talking about:wink
Luckily my second guy was on a much more even keel and had a much better handle on ways to approach the job.

Thanks MK. I'm not leaving the Academy regardless... It's hurting like crazy this morning. Tomorrow is my cortizone shot, so I can't wait. We start w/ Defensive Tactics this week, so should put quite a bit of strain on it, let me know what i'm in for the rest of the 21 remaining weeks.
