    Canadian Dollar = US Dollar

First time it's been equal since 1976. It was brutal going down to the US when the loonie was worth less than 0.70 cents in the States.

It would be nice if consoles and other electronic prices were adjusted although I doubt it's going to happen.

It will be interesting to see if less movies are made here now. The weak dollar was one of the biggest reasons why so many films were shot in Canada.

Yep I tried converting money in my Paypal account this morning and they were giving me 97 cents canadian for every US dollar. I remember when I started selling my used games on Ebay I'd get about 1.60 canadian for every US dollar.

As far as prices go, game prices seem to ba adjusting. Last year, all the games I bought were 69.99 and it gradually went down to 64.99 a coule months ago and now I can usually get new games for 59.99 which is what they sell for in the US. I haven't bought any other electronics recently so I can't compare other types of products.

Low US dollar means a lot more export for the US. It's pretty good IMO.

And the Canadian dollar comes in at 1.002 USD.

Today is a good day to be me, and a bad, bad day to be a manufacturer.

It's not really a big deal to me. Interesting how the U.S. and Canada are kind of like brother/sister.

I've heard Flaherty say that manufacturers should've been ready for this. Canada needs to up production and keep quality high. It'll offset some of the problems for them. Let's face it the last 30+ years have been hell for the Canadian economy other then manufacturers. It's now time for the other sectors to reap benefits.

I've heard the Loonie will be at par for at least the next few months. I sure hope this is the beginning of a new golden age for Canada as I think we've been battered psychologically for far too long.

                  Kinda like this:

"looks at your dollar bill" Gee George Washington is looking rather old. I think he needs some botox.

BTW "normal" is relative, for much of Canada's history the Dollar has been par or better then the USD until Trudeau mucked things up in the mid '70s.

I'm basing it all off of 1980, the year I was born...anything before then didn't happen

I knew we should've invaded Canada when we had the chance.

As we speak, the Vermont National Guard is mobilizing and preparing to invade Quebec.

On a side note, I wonder if the brothels like Bar Diane 2000 have lowered their prices with the strengthening of the the Canadian dollar or if it is just a great time to be a 'working girl'.
