My book is available for purchase.

Go here, then to "online store", memoirs, second page.

It will be out at Barne's and Noble, Amazon and other outlets on November 19th, but can be purchased on line right now at the above site (I think it's down for maintenance right now??).

Angel from Vietnam, The: A memoir of growing up, the Vietnam War, a daughter, and healing…

In 1970, after four years in Vietnam, Jim Stewart left behind his daughter, Phuong. It is estimated that fifty thousand Amerasians were left behind when America pulled out of the country for good in 1973. Jim carried this with him for years after the war. Join him on his journey through personal tragedy as a young boy in Maryland, his often humorous adventures in the Army, and the serious events that took place during his years in Vietnam and afterwards.

Often humorous, with a wide array of memorable characters in his life, this is a story that will bring a smile to your face, a tear to your eye, and leave you with a sense of spiritual healing. All from The Angel from Vietnam.

Damn, I still have to finish Ghosts of Vietnam! I started it this summer, but then baseball took over.

That looks really interesting. I might read it sometime...too bad there's no Hebrew translation. Thank you Jim and good luck with the book.

This book is a re-issue of The Ghosts of Vietnam.

          1. Completely re-edited (I had some problems with previous publisher)
          2. Added about twenty pages and changed some of the text on others.
          3. Changed the title as I found out the ladies purchase most of the books. At book signings I had to explain that the book was NOT a war book. This title is much more appropriate as the angel is my daughter, Phuong, shown on the cover over my photo.

The book did win the Military Writers Society of America distinguished honor award in 2005, which I'm happy about.

Do you see your daughter? Or have you found her? I know some never do, I am just curious. I have a friend that was a Amerasian. During the war her mom met an American Soldier.

Good call renaming...I think it will draw a much wider audience now, the "ghost" aspect of Vietnam might make some think it's too graphic/war like

                        Ghosts was a great read.
"Knowing" Jim made it all the better and it hit me a little harder.

I never did get to purchase the original release

However i'll be making a concerted effort to get this edition especially if the Canadian Dollar continues to be riding high

Well........it would give away much of the book. The book begins with this passage....

                            "Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
for Your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity, for it is great."

The book is quite humorous until about 3/4s of the way through, even the Vietnam stuff is mixed with a good deal of humor, then the tone changes. But, it's really about the above passage and hope it is uplifting to the reader. I made a lot of mistakes in my life, open up to them in the book and hope that people will learn that there is more to life than just us.
