Most of you newer guys probably haven't seen me post here much, but some of the older OSers might. I stopped regularly posting when college started back in '05, but have always been around reading and occasionally posting here and there.
Well, i've had some drastic changes in my life. As it was earlier this year in April, I was engaged and living in an apartment with her. I was pretty happy as an Electical Engineering student at the University of Maine, although I sometimes questioned how much I REALLY wanted to do it for the rest of my life.
And then, we found out we're having a baby. It wasn't planned, and we were obviously shocked, as she was on the pill, and we used protection each time. Almost as if it was "meant" to happen. It kind of put everything into perspective in my life though. I realized just how much she meant to me, as being twenty years old and having a baby is terrifying to most. Yeah, it was scary at first, but we are both very excited now, and have no regret about it.
I also realized that being an Electrical Engineering student was not my calling, so we came to the decision that she would stay in school (3rd year Occupational Therapy student) and I would get a fulltime job, picking up a different major after she graduates. I wound up getting a good job at an automotive plant as a machining operator/technician with great benefits and a good hourly rate. The benefits were the big bonus, as they are cheap and cover everything health wise at 90% or better, which is huge when it comes to the baby.
As it is, her becoming pregnant has been a blessing, as everything kind of fell into place after that. We have a great apartment along the Penobscot River now (yeah, in Maine, noone knows where it is), but it's a nice spot. My job will provide great support for us with the baby and until she graduates, when I can take schooling back up. Doesn't hurt that even at about 7 months pregnant, she is still working 6 days a week and still going to class.
Anyways, like I said, most of you don't remember me, but I thought i'd give an update on what's going on in my life.
Also, atleast for now until the baby comes when my gaming time will be really limited, add me on Live (gamertag Kearnzo). Right now, i'm playing Halo 3 and Skate online, and hopefully NBA2k8 soon.
