Anyone here play or know someone involved in high school sports?

Im posting this with Steve's permission, I ran it through him first to get his approval.

Two of my buddies and I have created a sports site for athletes in high school, JC's and even more extreme sports like off roading, skateboarding, etc....

While it's sort of self explanitory, but you can go to the site (free by the way), sign up post your sports highlights and videos, pictures and profile (on your own page) for showcasing.

The meat of it is to get college, even HS coaches to come on and join as well, so they can scout you, watch you progress, contact you and even recruit you if they like what they see.

You can send mail and pm's and such through the site, invite others, post int he forums about the different sports you are involved in, write your own blogs as well.

I guess I am asking you guys if you do play, check the site out and sign up, post up your stuff or if you have family members or friends involved in sports let them know about the site.

It's free and free exposure.

Very cool site and a great idea. Sorry I'm out of town and away from my old HS. But I would strongly recommend at least a myspace and facebook page to get your word out even more!

Its basically like myspace, but you can make a group, this group can post pictures and video, as well as information and events.

Awesome idea, I had something like it several years ago but didn't even begin to have the web skills necessary. If you want I can share some of them with you, PM me if you want.

You're up against some very stiff competition. Pay sites who offer the same services are run by people who have very good contacts with college coaches. The guy who runs my AAU program is launching his site this spring and his rolodex has Mike Brey to Jim Calhoun.

I'm not sure what validity your site will have because coaches have no idea who you are (unless I'm mistaken) or what type of kids are on your site. Let's say you have 500 basketball clips on the site and there are 5 legit college players (DI-DIII). Why would a college coach waste his time sifting through hundreds of videos of kids who have no prayer to play in college when they can go to a well known site and see vids of players they know are in their talent pool?

What is you're plan to attract college coaches to the site?

Also, as a recommendation there needs to be some sort of information blurb on each clip. I watched the basketball video and I had no idea which kid I was suppose to be watching. I don't know how old he is, how tall he is, his weight, position, etc.

To be perfectly honest I think this site isn't beefed up a great deal it will be nothing more than a place where HS athletes will go to share highlight films with each other, not a recruiting source. I have a lot of experience with the recruiting process (both when I was recruited and when my players have been) and I can tell you college coaches are not going to go to some unknown, unproven site and recruit kids off of it.

I'm not trying to be harsh but there are a lot of improvements that need to be made if you want this site to be a success in the way you envision it.

Dre, before they upload a clip you should make them input vitals about themselves.
