Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

 Huh?

Having to buy a new plan of health insurance that is at least 100% more than what I'm paying now meanwhile the deductible increases 400% and doctor visits and prescribed drugs aren't covered until you reach the deductible.

 God bless ****ing America.

It should be posted in the Pleasures of Life Thread, however I'm extremely thankful that our old insurance plans got "grandfathered in" so we got to keep them over this new stuff. Amazingly enough our premiums actually dropped 5% this year.

Add to that the fact that after 8 years the company pays for our own insurance and while I've February marks my 6th anniversary, my wife's 8th year was last year, so I jumped on her family plan... My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Small accounting firm here.It should be posted in the Pleasures of Life Thread, however I'm extremely thankful that our old insurance plans got "grandfathered in" so we got to keep them over this new stuff. Amazingly enough our premiums actually dropped 5% this year.

I was "grandfathered" for a year from last year. My "easy transition" plan is nearly $200 more than what I'm now paying if I want to keep my stuff the same way.

I can get an HSA plan that has less value than the cheapest plan for $30 more, but then all the contributions are tax deductible. It would just take me forever to save up for my deductible.

At this rate I will never be able to afford a house much less be able to replace my car.

 Seriously. **** this ****.

If I hear the media refer to Adrian Peterson whipping his kid with a "tree branch" one more time, I might snap.
It was a SWITCH! I half expect to eventually hear how he whipped his kid with a 200lb. railroad crosstie.Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Driving out of my neighborhood I see a Jr High girl on crutches walking to school.

Being a teacher I freak out thinking "wtf". Naturally I want to help as the Jr High is a good mile and a half away.

If I was female, probably don't think twice about it. Being male, well, that's a different story.

This is the most recent. But as a male teacher I often can't help my own students in ways that I know if I was female it wouldn't cause anyone to think twice...Comment

I get where you're coming from, males have to be careful, but for some weird reason I was thinking your original post was something about wanting to be a surrogate mother but not having a uterus. I was way off!Driving out of my neighborhood I see a Jr High girl on crutches walking to school.

Seriously though, maybe I'm a jerk, but I'd be more worried about giving the girl a lift and then being relied on for a lift to school every day for the duration of her injury. Then you run the risk of other students asking for a lift and before you know it you're a glorified pro bono bus driver.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
