Right, we need a world full of Fido's and Fluffy's.

lol my dad had a cat named Moose. I've never heard anyone else use that name before

          Besides Greg Monroe.

Which I guess makes it a human name?

We got the dog when I was in Alaska so it at least makes some sense

My dog's name is Nellie, and the next one we get is going to be Wilma. I want them to sound like two old ladies who are best friends and play backgammon all day together. Human names for animals are the best.

I'd much prefer people give their dogs human names rather then people naming their kids something that could be a dog name.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

It's turning into a psycho analysis at the in laws right now. Any discussion about my 2 year old boy, turns into a discussion (one sided discussion to herself, my sister law that is) about how her dog is acting the same as my 2 year old.

Highlight of the night was my boy was walking over to us, and her big puppy barrels him over, pins him down, and my boy is crying - puppy is obviously playing - but all that she says is..."Oh that was so great, he (the puppy) wanted to play with him (my son) like he's another dog..."

Completely ignoring the tears from my son - her nephew - as I had to push the dog off of him and snatch him away.

This is my sister in law who quit her job and said she was ready to move to KS to help nanny for us for 3 months, but wouldn't go without her 1. Puppy and 2. Snake, we agreed to the puppy - hell no to the snake. After this trip, it's a hell no to the entire idea. She has some growing up to do (doesn't drive, throws tantrums despite being 24, social problems, drama...).

Fwiw, nothing is right or wrong - but I'm annoyed by the facade now, but I can see how people call their dogs their loved ones, etc - we were the exact same way - but now things are completely different and we see dogs, owned by us or others, as just dogs/pets.

When you catch a "Director's Cut" or "Extended Cut" version of a movie on cable or something like HBO yet that version isn't out on Blu Ray/Netflix/DVD.

I gave my puppy a human name (Mia) and call her 'bae'.

Mostly to be a smartass since I hate that word, but women eat that stuff up.

My sister had a black lab named Dakota. One of her friends has a son named Dakota who is the same age as my nephew. At my nephews 3rd or 4th birthday party which was at my sister's house my nephew received one of those foam rubber covered bats and ball. At one point Dakota (kid) was playing with the bat/ball while it was still in the packaging (hard plastic around the end of the bat handle and containing the ball) so I decided to open it so he didn't hurt himself or one of the other little kids with the hard plastic. Of course as I'm doing so Dakota (dog) is staring intently at the ball (he was hopelessly obsessed with balls) so I said to him "Dakota get lost" then quickly turned to Dakota (kid) and said "not you, the dog".

One thing that I've always disliked over the years are when girls feel they need(or just want to have) a fair-high amount of makeup/lipstick and stuff like that, when in reality, they actually look better with little to none at all. Similar with wearing glasses. Feeling the need to wear contacts instead(regardless if wearing contacts occurs when wearing lots of makeup or not), but they actually look better with glasses than without.

Most likely just their own personal preference on how they look, and my own personal preference on appearances too, but it's something that I've always disliked. Though seems to happen more in present day than before.
