It bothers me more when there's a no turn sign and people turn anyway, or a "no passing on shoulder" and people do it anyway. Then there are the people who get mad at me for following the law and will go around me and stare me down like I'm the jerk

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Wait.... Have I been doing something wrong all if these years? When I come up to a normal red light I'll turn right on Red as soon as it's clear. However, if I come to a red light and there's a sign that specifically says "No Right On Red", then I will wait for the light to turn green before going right even if it's crystal clear. Am I missing something?
In the N.Y.C. limits...there is no right on red.
In neighboring towns(Long Island for instance)....you are allowed to.
In either case, it is not mandatory to do so if your municipality allows it.

Technically you're supposed to come to a full and complete stop at a right on red regardless of clearance.
I've heard people say, "Can we make a right on red here?" and wondered if it differed like Knight said (when it's not posted at the intersection). Makes sense in cities where there's heavy foot traffic, but damn if they aren't making something people can't do well already (drive) that much worse by having changing rules by state or town.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Every state/city should allow right on red. I feel like driving in NYC would be easier if you could turn right on red.MLB: Texas Rangers

People who stop at red lights in general. It should be treated more like a harder yellow light. Slow down enough to see it's clear, then go.Comment

The further north I go, the worse people are. Why is somebody blowing the horn behind me when the light JUST turned green?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I'm an aggressive driver, but when I lived in the mid-Atlantic they took it to another level. I usually drive around 5-15 over on the highway, depends on where and the traffic. I have no idea how many times I saw someone doing 20+ over the limit on I95. Never seen so many people in such a hurry.
And even in construction zones with cameras. I'd drive the speed limit and someone would ride my tail until I got over and then they'd floor it. I saw justice get served once when a car that blew past me I saw pulled over a few minutes later. The guy then passed me again a while later...Last edited by Redacted01; 06-20-2015, 02:11 PM.Comment
