          Human Resources...

So I am going to school and also have a work study on campus and have it had for the past 3 years. And I get an email over the weekend (Friday to be exact), and it says I need to fill out an I-9, some government form or whatever. I had done this during my freshman year 3 years ago. And I'm not supposed to be working without this form being filled out. So I go to see them yesterday morning before class. And I say I need to fill out this form and she's like ok fine. And then asks for 2 forms of ID. And I only had my state issued ID with me because I don't around my SS card, passport, etc. with me because I have my ID. Then she tells me the part where I can't be working. And that's when I got pissed. Because I have been back for over 2 weeks now and working since I got back on campus 2 weeks ago Thursday. So I got to tell my boss that I can't work last night because this form isn't filled out and she is like OK fine just fill out quick as possible. Then I see her boss, who was also one of my professors, and he says something about having a good day. Then I go and tell him the whole situation and then the lady that works at our front desk is walking down the hall and stops to talk with us. And I come to find out from her that this form is supposed to last for 5 years. WTF...Also how the **** did they not catch this, as I had entered my hours twice into the system?

You're young. You're only getting to learn the true nightmares of HR. Just wait until you enter the workplace.

Yea I have no problem with having to fill out the form again or missing my shift yesterday. But the whole taking two weeks before noticing pissed me off.

I played college baseball in Pennsylvania but my parents (and therefore my home address) was in New Mexico.

I got called in my sophmore year because I never filled out an international player form.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

                          First part:
When people continually bash TV shows they don't even watch. Went on facebook page of a TV show that was having a premiere, and some comments on that page are about how people think the show is stupid and the person on the show isn't good, how it's the worst show on tv and all that....

Why bother talking about a show/person on the show, if you don't like it and don't even watch it? Some people seriously got nothing better to do?

                          Second part:
People who bash things on a TV show for not being realistic/believable enough.

It's a TV SHOW! Do you want every last thing in a show to be realistic? Who cares if something that happened on a show in a few week period, really takes a few months to happen in real life. Or random coincidences on a show such as two people suddenly bumping into each other during a time which happened to be real convenient to progressing the episode plot.

Reasons like that are why I try to stay away from comments people make about shows on facebook/twitter and stuff. This site is really the only site I really talk about TV shows, cause people here are fans of the show(since they post in the specific topic) and not those overly critical internet fanbase.

Sounds like some of the anime fans I've run into on sites like My Anime List and Anidb . But yeh, it's the same reason I don't scroll down to read YouTube comments.

Well that really grinds my gears, the "it's fiction" or "it's a TV show/movie" excuse for lazy unrealistic writing. For myself fiction, no matter how fantastical, has to have a foothold in reality to be believable. If it doesn't then it taints the entire thing. If that doesn't bother you, fine, but piss off trying to tell me I'm wrong.
