If you get a reputation as a bad tipper, then you deserve the quality of food and services you receive. Except for chambermaids. You should never tip chambermaids.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

This would be the first right I would take away in my administration. I deem "Golden Girls" a sub-par form of entertainment, I therefore plan to impose my taste on others (by force of law).
"Growing Pains", on the other hand, would be mandated to be broadcast 24-hours-a-day on at least 1 channel.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
A big adjustment for me was moving to Japan where it's not customary and is often frowned upon or seen as offensive to leave a tip. Japanese places just don't expect it and they take a lot of pride in their service and work. The trade-off is they don't pay people substantially less money on the premise that they will be tipped.
I get and follow suit with the standard + some when it comes to tipping, but I hate the concept and implementation. I know some servers rake when it comes to tipping, but to me it leads to more bull **** than good service and it's always a subject that's debated heavily.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I agree with this. I generally tip well by any standard, but it belies the fact that I'm not in favor of the structure that calls for tipping in the first place. I much prefer the Japanese model, where employers pay their employees a fair wage and employees take pride in their work. I suppose this is cultural more than anything, but I have never noticed a superior level of service in the US vs abroad (and in fact, it may be worse on average).A big adjustment for me was moving to Japan where it's not customary and is often frowned upon or seen as offensive to leave a tip. But yeah, this is the system we all live in, so the servers shouldn't get screwed because I disagree with the system.Comment
