Signing up for other sites only to find out my username isn't available.

Similar with gmail. I tried signing up for a personal one, but someone took the one I had in mind. Had to resort to using my whole first and last name. Too bad gmail doesn't distinguish between . and usernames without it.Comment

One of the reasons I never changed my username. Ones I've thought of are taken. And just seems unoriginal to have to add a number after. Depending in the username, it's almost admitting you aren't the first to have that name.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Selling something on Ebay. Someone made offer, I accepted, then they don't bother paying and now backed out of deal.
Why even bother trying to buy something if you have no intention of buying it. It wasn't an auction, it was a buy it now that they offered less than my asking price.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
This has happened to me a bunch of times. Technically they have 48 hours to pay. But I usually give them about 8 hours if I don't hear anything from them. I usually send them a message after a couple hours to respond. If they don't you pretty much know they aren't paying. So I just cancel the transaction and relist.
Either way, things worked out. That sale fell through, but I managed to sell for about 50% more than that other person was offering.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Ebays policy is 4 days before you can file a complaint, but seeing how they requested to cancel it, I just did that. I usually give people 12 or so hours, or just depending on time of the day. If something happens later in the day, I won't expect them on a weekday morning 12 hours later to be free enough to do something like reply.

And I thought with best offer accepted it was 48 hours, but I could be wrong. (edit) I looked it up, you can open an unpaid dispute after 48 hours, then that gives the buyer four days to pay.
What I do is I put in the description if best offer is accepted please be able to pay shortly thereafter. I think that helps. And when I get an offer I immediately send them a message asking if they can pay now. It seems to weed out the deadbeat buyers.Last edited by PVarck31; 03-30-2019, 03:12 AM.Comment

Customers with smart phones ("wireless caller" on caller ID) who call to ask for information that's on our web page. That's 90% of the calls we get, and it cuts into productivity.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
That’s the gap between modern technology and old technology. We can check ourselves nowadays, before we had to call someone to check for us.
Yesterday we were wondering about tomorrow’s weather. Someone had checked in the morning, but it updated and someone else relayed the new information. But the person who checked in the morning described it as, “when i checked on my Accuweather app on my phone.” I just found it funny she used the name of the app, specifically called it an app, and the device she used. We wouldn’t say hey I was watching Weatherman John on NBC on the television. Nah. I checked the weather. Simple as that.
It’s like there’s these newer ways to get information ASAP, but people see them as a completely different platform and means, to the point where it must be described how this information was obtained.
Just found it interesting how we adapt to newer technology.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

That people have to post and record EVERYTHING with their cell phone.
Literally everything.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I wouldn't be surprised if I've mentioned this before. In the last several movies I have seen, there is a big name who makes a minor appearance (seriously, sometimes not even story-impacting) but gets top billing above other actors/actresses who are major characters throughout the entirety of the film, who are reserved for the scrolling credits or the group names.
And I don't mean in a "get people to the theaters by saying this person is in it" kind of way, like Drew Barrymore in Scream (though much of that was for misdirection purposes as well), but this is something where we didn't know after the fact and the credits appear at the end and not the beginning, so there's never a reason to look forward to seeing them at any point prior to that, and then they just come and go.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I have been dealing with an ailment for a few weeks now and have been having tests done. I had this latest test (ultrasound) done and when I called to get results, I'm told the doctor wants to discuss the findings with me personally, which freaks me out.
To make matters worse, he's on vacation this week and as of today the soonest I can see him is April 16th. WTF?!
I understand if it was extremely serious/life threatening they would have admitted me to the hospital, but still with everything going on, being told I have to wait 2 weeks to discuss with my doctor is ridiculous.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

At least your paperwork is right. Literally every time myself or my wife goes to the doctor, they screw up somehow. It’s actually frightening, since these mistakes involve medication sometimes. They were going to give my son another dose of a vaccination he had already had.
Yeah, we lost our collective **** at that one. Immediately left for a new practice. Similar clerical errors, receptionists thinking they know more then us (switching first name and last name).
I pay waaaayyy too much for this “healthcare” to deal with this, but there’s no other option besides continuing to switch around, which only complicates matters anyway.
Please, CHECK your doctors, ASK questions, and read the labels on your medications. I can’t even imagine the amount of people who just do as the doc says, never inquire, and get wrong medication. Especially older folks.
If you’ve had similar experiences, do share. Just yesterday I found out they thought I requested a tooth extraction when I wanted a root canal. I understand why there was confusion because I asked questions and weighed my options, but NEVER did I agree to an extraction. There should’ve been a final confirmation of what procedure I wanted.
It’s insane man. I’m going to share a related story in “The Death of Customer Service” thread, but it’ll actually be a positive post. LolLast edited by slickdtc; 04-03-2019, 12:30 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
