Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Well, I'm conflicted. I despise channels that used to be one thing and then become a shadow of its former self (looking at you History Channel). That said, yesterday morning I was browsing through the TV guide (or whatever it is called now) and was pleasantly surprised that there was an Everybody Loves Raymond marathon on this channel called IFC (the heck do I what that stands for).
I watched a bit of 2 episodes and had my ELR fix since TBS churned and disposed of it some time ago.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

It doesn’t stand for anything, they dropped the acronym in 2014.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

It's like AMC. At one point it was American Movie Classics, basically a lesser version of TCM, then it just became a generic cable network called AMC. I just miss IFC being my go to for random offbeat films that you couldn't find anywhere else on TV. Same with Sundance.Comment

As someone who grew up with Court TV only to watch it morph into TruTV, I feel your pain.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Starting to get my notice about needing to be back in person, but sadly, sounds like it's a reverse of what I was doing before in terms of schedule wise.
Might be working late evening/early nights and sleeping during the day.....
Been waiting for the day when everyone would be required to come back in person, but now I'm not so sure I'd even want to go back/keep that job if it requires me working such unappealing schedules.
Definitely going to talk with management, bringing up my regular pre pandemic schedule, but just sucks that this might be the case. Don't know how to word it without sounding unreasonable. Things pre pandemic was going so well, got into a real nice groove too.Last edited by Majingir; 09-20-2021, 03:45 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I wonder what that must be like. Imagine airing a classic music station, but the definition of classic has changed. Classic music when we were younger might be something like the 50s or 60s styled music. Classic stations have changed into 70s,80s and 90s music. But how much longer before 00s starts being grouped into the classic stations? Because it feels like 90s music has been grouped into classic stations for about a decade at least.Comment

I remember being a kid in the 90s and oldies stations played the usual late 50s to 60s hits. Chuck Berry, Elvis, Motown. Now those stations play 1980s music typically. Hard to even find a station that plays Woodstock and 70s era rock. But that depends on how big of a market you live in, I guess.Comment
