Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Speaking of insurance, a gear grinder I had yesterday:

My company switched insurance providers this year. Apparently, BCBS decided they weren't going to cover the final $ 62.00 on a claim for the year prior (2012) in December. They paid October, and November.

Get home yesterday only to find that since Blue Cross did not finish paying on the claim, the hospital decided to send me to the collection ageny, w/o a phone call or letter in the mail. We have not been delinquent on any bills paid to them, so for them to just up and send us to collections is bogus.

We will soon be in the market for a new vehicle and I don't need this right now. My wife and I both are in the mid- 700's credit score wise.

On a related note: They also expect you to pay an absurd amount on a bill within 3 months. I can't pay you $400 for 3 straight months, but I can pay you. It just sickens me that the ppl that pay, in a timely fashion and fulfill that obligation, are the ones harassed the most by these leeches. /rant

I find it hard to believe they didn't send you something in the mail. My wife would get these all the time in the mail in the past and ignored them lol. Then she'd end up on collections for 20 bucks she owed a doctor. We cleared them all up, and she's better now, but we still get some smaller bills that the doctor mails to us.

I believe you, just sucks they didn't notify you at all. Hope your car buying goes well! We got a 2013 Honda CR-V on Labor Day and it's awesome!

I'm growing sicker and sicker of the fantasy sports-ification of sports.

Any time anything happens ever all I see is "My fantasy team this, my fantasy team that". Here's the thing about your fantasy team: I don't care.

Eat a Snickers, you get a little cranky when you're hungry.

Is it because you took a fantasy hiatus this year?

I banned my friends from talking fantasy during the games when they come over. Halftime and after the games only. I can just block the channel if they don't obey.

On the other end of the spectrum players whining that we only care about them because of their fantasy stats.

              I'm with him.

But people should still care about my fantasy teams.

                    Probably partly that, I'd imagine.

I'm not usually "I miss the old days" guy, but there's a part of me that misses when everyone had a favorite team and that was it. Not "Well, I'm a Packers fan, but I have Marshall on my fantasy team so I do hope he catches like 20 passes." or things like that.

Speaking of missing the old days.

I remember when the ACC had 9 teams and conferences were mostly regional. Super-conferences grind my gears.

Ah, the good ol' days. The MAC with 14 teams was awesome. Those Toledo/Marshall games were fun to watch. All the ACC's fault. If not for raiding the Big East, the Big East doesn't raid C-USA who doesn't raid the MAC.

And I quit playing fantasy sports years ago for that reason. I don't want to have to cheer against my team just for the sake of my fantasy team.

Good thing I came up with the conclusion that fantasy football is stupid after I drafted LaDainian Tomlinson first overall and he got hurt.

                            Agreed.

It has made me so sick that I am done with fantasy after this year. I'll stick with survivor pools and pick em pools to keep my interest.

I got in a fight during our draft this year because he started going on a rant when someone drafted a TE "too early."

That's when I realized it was no longer about football, my interest has severely dissipated over the last few years anyway.

Yeah I started doing fantasy football 3 years ago, the first year was awesome, second year was cool, and this year it feels like a chore to set my lineups.

What I always do though is I never play someone in fantasy who is playing the team I like. No conflict of interest that way lol

I was never into fantasy sports. The whole concept is ridiculous to me but to each there own. Once they started making shows based on fantasy football, and had the audacity to have fantasy football analysts on major sports networks giving them major segments on sportscenter and even giving them 30 min slots on national TV, I started to hate fantasy sports.
