I have a 42 inch in my living room and a 22 inch in our bedroom. My daughter has a 20 inch tube tv.

I was thinking about getting a 55 for the living room when we get our tax refund, but I think I'm gonna wait a year and get a 4K.

Same. All my TV's are standard def. They all work perfectly fine, I'm not bothered by the quality of the picture. Would HD be nice? Of course. But do I need it? No. It's not even a thing I've thought about upgrading ... What I have works fine for me.

If someone offered me a better TV, sure. But I'm not gonna go out and buy one even if it's "only" $200.

Thing is I also do own an HDTV(got it as a gift last year) but I still find myself watching the Tube TV more than I do the HD. I'm not one that HAS to have 720p or 1080i or whatnot on my TV.

Plus I've been watching SD for so long to the point where it doesn't even bother me to be honest.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Just for the record the TV I was talking about was in my Dad's spare room that I was staying in. My little brother's room sister's room, dad's room, dad's office, living room, and even the second spare room has HDTVs in them. As my dad is a tech fiend. I just didn't care enough to switch tvs. High Definition is just not that big a deal to me.

When I came home from college I left my 40inch HDTV (from college) collecting dust in my basement when I was too lazy to switch it out from the one already in my room; a 21 inch tube TV. I just didn't care. I only finally switched it out when a friend came over and started the jokes lol.

Hell if I know, that's what my broker is for. I just look at the quarterly statements.

I think even my lowly Roth IRA did ~10% this last year.

10 dollars a month (I think that's what it is here for an HD cable box) is worth that and then some.

I'm an HD snob, apparently. However, despite buying only Blu-Rays, I still don't notice/see any difference. I just want them.

I...could not use a tube TV. I'd probably laugh at it. Hell, I now know who to judge when they talk about playing video games knowing they're playing these current generation systems on a tube tv.

I have 3 HDTV's in my house. (LCD, LED, Plasma) I get use out of all 3.

However, I do still own an old tube TV from 1993. 27 inch screen and it's a floor model that swivels. I keep that TV in the spare room to use for old video games. I use it for my Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Sega Dreamcast. All of which still work like a charm.

Tube TV for television watching? No thanks. Tube TV for playing old video game systems? Hell yes.

Just for clarification, I have a 39" 1080p TV in my room with my PS4 and 360 hooked up to it

                            Tube TVs are indestructible though.

Definitely agree with that last part as far as playing old video games.
