Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I don't think snitching qualifies as pointing someone in the direction of another thread that's being used to discuss the same thing.

Are you referring to that or reporting posts ? Yeah, there are several MODS on this site, but I don't see anything wrong with helping them by reporting a post here and there. It makes things easier on them, I'm sure if you asked they would agree.

When I think of snitching, I don't think of internet message boards.

I wasn't really saying snitches at first. I was mainly referring to "hall monitors". I agree that message boards and snitches don't really mesh!

OS "Hall Monitors". You know the type

"Oh, that is already been discussed here [insert OS hyperlink]. You should use the search function."

I understand helping someone new to the site and all, but let the mods take care of that stuff. Lord knows there's quite a few on here (and not mod bashing, btw, just sayin').

OSers that want to be mods, crazy.

I don't know, maybe it's just my disdain for snitches...

LOL, and as I said earlier in this thread (at least in the part started by JNes12 before it got merged into an older thread by one of the mods), when a thread on a general topic gets turned into a specific argument between 2 or 3 people.

I was waiting on this one!

I figured, but wasn't sure. I'd love snitches too! When it comes to those snitches though, they shouldn't have been breaking the law in the first place.

When its 10 PM at night and the store is packed, it might be a good idea to have more than three check out registers open. I literally waited in line for 30 minutes tonight to get some milk and bread. The guy in front of me even told three of the associates that "instead of standing around, maybe you could open up another line considering this line has 15 people in it."

It was rude, but man, I felt his frustration. Ah, but the checkers who are running these lines feel the need to strike up a conversation with every person who buys something...

I know its petty, but OPEN SOME MORE LINES! You have the man power to do it... That place is a nightmare.
It all depends on who can ring. As much as this may surprise you, a decent amount of training goes into working a cash register. There are produce codes to memorize, tricks you have to know, WIC checks, and if it's busy, you have to scan and bag $200-250 dollar orders all while being nice to the customer and keeping your cool when dealing with all the ****ty ones.

If you're not trained, you can't ring. If those three associates weren't trained, then they should not get on register.

*Trust me, as someone who worked as a cashier in a busy-all-the-time grocery store, there is nothing more annoying than those people who are way too vocal when telling you how to cashier or run the store (not saying this is you, just people in general).

Ohhh boy I have so many little annoyances, might be too many to even list in this post. (some of mines have most probably been listed already somewhere in this thread but whatever I'll go at it)

                                - The difference in Forum Etiquette around the internet. Like for instance here on OS you cannot post separate threads when there has already been an ongoing Discussion on the topic. They like to keep things tidy all in one place, usually the good topics become one mega topic though. Fine it's a nice system I got used to it.

Then I go to another forum and God forbid you bump up a thread from a Week ago to discuss a topic another poster already made a thread for; but fell down to the bottom, or the next page. You have to take up bandwidth to make a whole new topic, or else the mods shun you for bumping a dead thread?

Sigh.. I know every Forum has different rules but you get accustomed to following one set of standards and you kind of think of it as common place.

                                - When you're outside in somewhat Cold weather and your Ears start going Numb. I guess this only happens to me but I'm Not even out there for that long and my ears start hurting.

                                - (This one is only for those of you living with other people that don't clean up after themselves) When you wake up in the morning and you pour yourself a Bowl of Cereal, only to find that every Spoon in the house is filthy dirty because no one washed the dishes the previous night... Sometimes I have myself to blame for this but when I come home from a long day of work the last thing on my mind is Washing dishes, and utensils especially when there's two other family members that sit at home all day and do nothing...

                                - When you try to take a Shower and you can't get Hot water...

                                - People that take up an Entire Aisle in the Grocery Store.. they set their Cart sideways on one end of the aisle.. then stand on other side Mindlessly staring at the Items on the shelf. You literally can't get through them! Please move your a** or at least move your cart so I can get through!!

                                - People that are on their Phones 24/7... Just ticks me off for some reason. Younger girls always do this, even mature women too. They just can't be detached from their Phones, you see them in stores they walk around looking at / or talking on their phones the entire time. Even when they are checking out or someone is trying to talk to them. Like seriously you can't put the Phone down for a few seconds? You would think they have an Oxygen tank hooked up to it or something.

                                - People that take forever deciding what they want. I'm a private person so I don't like to interrupt peoples personal space. So in the store if they are at a fixture, aisle, display.. that I want to use, shop from I let them finish and then go. A lot of times I wait, look at something else, 20 seconds they are done. Every now and then I run into people that spend an eternity in one spot... one time I was at the store and I wanted to find a good Energy Bar but the lady was there and she wasn't moving so I was like fine I'll do the rest of my shopping first... Came back 20 minutes later she was still there!!!

Probably have a ton more but eh.
