Agreed, and I find it even more annoying if it's a movie I like. On a similar note, watching a show with commercials when you usually watch it online/without commercials. In other words, going from watching any of the Arrowverse shows online without commercials to having to sit through them, either on the CW site or live on TV. The CW site feels especially annoying with lots of commercials.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I can't do it. Even if it's a movie I like. I can barely tolerate shows with commercials, but movies - I'll just make a mental note that I want to watch it and find it somewhere on Netflix or elsewhere where I can watch without commercials. Or, I just won't watch it. But it's too painful, and I can't believe for years and years, that was the only way I watched movies....Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I almost miss planning for commercials lol. Bathroom breaks, snack prep, homework, reading, drink refills, etc. all based around commercials when I was a kid. Now looking back it's like multitasking for neanderthals, how could life have been so primitive back then???Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Luckily for Arrowverse shows I can watch them together, so I can record a show on Monday and watch multiple ones on Tuesday like I'm planning on doing with Flash and Legends.
It's probably why watching NFL is so much harder for me. Other sports you know when commercial breaks are happening, NFL can really happen at any time and it happens much more frequently(with more commercial break time than gametime).Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I don't think I can do that anymore. Outside of sports, I don't think I even watch any other TV show as it happens. If a show starts at 8pm, in my mind I already know "I got 15-20 minutes at least until I start watching it".

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
My wife always wants to watch shows when they come on at night and I am like no, that's why we have a DVR, so we can tape them and fast forward through commercials. Sports I can put up with commercials, but shows no way.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Some people probably think I watch too many shows, but what they seem to not realize is that I don' watch them live, so if you cut out all the commercial time from these shows, I probably spend less time watching than other people do, but get more done in that time.
A 3 hour block for example, I'm not watching shows for 3 whole hours. Cut out approximately 20 minutes from each show, and I'm only spending 2 of those hours even watching anything.Comment

We never watch stuff live unless it's sports or the Olympics or something....otherwise it's just the tv on in the background and we don't really care.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Maybe it's just me but, when I took my kids to the latest Star Wars movie, I emphasized that we wouldn't talk about what happened until we got back in the car. Anything other than "that was great/bad" type of comments was strictly forbidden. I even blew up at them when I thought they told one of their teachers (that I knew was excited to see it) about a big part...and then found out that she cut them off before they did so I felt kinda bad.
Seriously, just not cool at all...PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Totally...we binge watched The Good Place (2 13 ep seasons) pretty quickly, but at like 22 mins an ep it is almost 3 an hour, so you could get through 6-9 in a night if you have a couple hours to watch TV.

But DVRing stuff is great for being time efficient. Getting more done in shorter period of time. Probably a reason sports watching has also taken a hit. You could spend 3 hours watching a single game OR spend those 3 hours watching 8 30 min sitcom episodes or 4 one hour long episodes of a diff genre or a combination of those.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The only thing I don't like about binge watching is how quick the show goes by. I like to space out/take in shows instead of just episode after episode after episode. 1-2 episodes a day is a number I'd prefer. I'm watching Friends right now and I probably started back in October or November. I'm only on S7 right now because I've spaced things out. If I actually tried, I'd finish those 200+ episodes in 2-3 months. A season or two a month even would be a decent average.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
When people online get mad at a TV show(facebook/twitter account), actor or anyone associated with the show for discussing what happened on the show because they haven't seen it yet.
Do they not realize what they're saying?
Ripping on a social media account of a tv show because they're discussing the TV show as it happens(and mentioning things about it the day after it airs)? If you haven't seen the episode yet, don't go online and either read posts using a hashtag of the show, or bother following an account you know will be discussing something you don't want to read until later on.
It's like some people want the entire shows discussion to stop just because they haven't seen the latest episode(s) of the show.Comment
