When is the last time you had a "Heroes" moment?

Whens a time your adrenaline (or whatever) made you do something "extraordinary"?

I remember I was working under a car w\ my family around and I heard the jack snap!.....I immediately put my hands up out of instinct and a few seconds later the jack pops all the way!!! I held the weight of the car above me for about 10-15 seconds until my cousins came and lifted the car enough so I could get from under it....I had to get 20 stitches in my hand....I felt like a BEAST after it was all said and done though lol

    what about yall?

I lasted through an encounter with Gianna without any harm to myself. I'm... blessed.

I withstood an attack from Night Man.

Seriously though, only thing I can think of would be playing through a sports injury, which isn't anything that great.

Not quite as serious or deadly, but I was running a 400 in a track meet against another school (head to head meet) while in High School. I'd all ready run the mile, so this was just a warmdown/training thing to get me more work. I was in the last heat with 4 or 5 guys from the other team. While we were waiting for the prior heat to finish they asked me if I wanted to hold hands across the finish line. I was like "hell no" and that really pissed me off. Even though we weren't the guys winning the points in that event it was still a race.

My prior best in the 400m was 59 seconds (not all that great, I was a distance guy). I got so pissed off by those guys on the other team I just took off like a f'n rocket at the gun. I ended up running a 55 second 400m and beat the other guys by almost the entire home stretch. Felt great. Never ran a 400 that fast again though.

Again, not anything extraordinary or life threatening, but it's amazing how getting that adrenaline flowing, for whatever reason, can pump you up.

I'll also get pissed off while playing rec soccer and it's like the hulk. I get 5ish minutes of intense running/physical play (more physical than I normally am) and then I need to sub out so I can crash after the adrenaline high. Last time that happened was when I was slide tackled from behind by a guy bitching about our tackling. He got taken out soon after that lol.

Encounter probably doesn't mean what you think it means.

I know he met Gianna, I had money on him passing out and hitting his head on a table.

            I must've lost that bet.

I've worn my fair of line drives and never really showed that it hurt. That's about all I got.

Re: When is the last time you had a "Heroes" moment?

I have a couple to share

Play some touch-football (because we were on our high school turf field and we didn't feel like get turf burn) and I catch a little hook route and proceed to juke my friend but he still reaches out for me and I stiff arm him to keep him from getting me, then I take off, I got about 35 more yards till the endzone. Then one of my friends takes a perfect angle towards me and then right when he gets behind me and was about to touch me, I took off. I still can't figure out how I did it but I took off like I was Mr. Hester for the Bears. It seemed like I flew the last 20 yards in about 2 seconds flat. Needless to say my friend who almost got me, was like "Wow, I never thought you were that fast."

The next one was during spring baseball. We had a double-header with Putnam City which was really good, because they had some good upperclassmen on their JV. Well we beat them the in the first game, which I didn't play in, and then I got to start the second game in left. Before I continue this story I need to tell some stuff about myself. I have never have classified myself as a really good ballplayer you know I just thought I was ok, even though freshman year I played though, a cracked/sprained ankle (yes it was both). Well this game was really close and I proceeded to go 2-3 with some soft line drives up the middle and I was playing excellent defense I had about 4 or 5 putouts out in left field. We get into the top of the 8th (we were only supposed to play 5 innings because of the double header) and I was leadoff that inning. I was telling myself that I was tired of this, because I thought we should have already won, so I get the first pitch and proceed to one hop it to the wall in the deepest part of the field. I got a stand up double and then scored the winning run, but since we were away I got to go back out to left field. As I was walking out there I noticed that there was something different about the wall. Apparently, the small guy that I am, somehow put a dent in the left field wall. I have never been a power hitter, infact I have never hit a homerun and I was impressed that I put the ball all the way out here and even put a dent in the wall.

Thats about all I can remember right now but adrenaline does allow you to do some crazy things.

When I was 14, my friends and I were in the basement just hanging out. I then proceeded to stick my finger in a light socket and a jolt of electricity ran through my body.

Ever since then, when my heart rate increases my eyes glow.

I carried two 40 pound bags of laundry down 5 flights of stairs and two blocks last week...in one trip.

Only once when I was about 10 or so years old. I was living in an appartment then and the elevator got stuck. I was pannicking and pretty scared. Anyways the doors were steel and I had such an adrenaline rush that I opened the doors all by myself.

Now keep in mind I was a frail kid who could barely lift my own body weight much less open steel doors. So that was pretty extraordinary.

That's crazy. I'll never forget a few years ago when I drove by this guy working under the car. When I drove back a while later there was a sheet over him and an ambulance and police car parked outside. Really freaked me out. I still wonder to this day if he was dead the first time I drove by. I didn't stop and never found out if he got crushed or maybe just had a heart attack.
