Bartending

Is anyone currently a bartender or previously bartended?

How long does it take to get your license, and is it fairly easy?

Do you make fairly good money?

Pretty much, I'm quite interested in doing something like this just because it seems fun, and a good way to meet tons of people.

I'd love to hear about anything anyone has to offer on the topic, and even some interesting stories if you have them.

Nah, actually haven't watched anything. I was on another site and someone mentioned bartending and it got me thinking.

I'm really needing a job, and it seems fun. Something that might force me to be more outgoing and social.

Nah, actually haven't watched anything. I was on another site and someone mentioned bartending and it got me thinking.

I'm really needing a job, and it seems fun. Something that might force me to be more outgoing and social.

Women make more, but if you have a lot of regulars that like you, then you can make some good money. But dont go into this because you think it will force you to be socal, because you will chock under pressure if your concentrating on what people think, instead of concentrating on making the drinks right. The only place I "helped" out at was a country bar down in Texas, I didnt have to make many drinks that often, just pop a top off the beer bottle and I was set. Just depends on where you work.

Sure being a man with an awesome rack would have its downsides...No, actually I can't think of a single downside.

I bartend now, and I have no complaints about the money, I took a course at the ABC Bartending school, the class was alot of fun, It'll be difficult for you to just walk into a bartending job with no experience, The job is just like everything else though, its all about confidence....If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Also if you want to get some experience offer to help out at a bar. Run cases of beer for a while and just watch how the bartender works.
