    The World's least favorite airports

I was listening to the radio this morning and this story came up. This is the result of the travel organization TripAdvisor's survey on least favorite airports. Heathrow in London tops the list along with Chicago's O'Hare. Here's the list

London, Heathrow Airport / Chicago, O'Hare

    International

    New York, JFK

    Atlanta, Hartsfield International

    Los Angeles International

    Miami International

    New York, La Guardia

    Paris, Charles de Gaulle

    Dallas Fort Worth

    Neward Liberty International

    London Gatwick

    Cancun International

    Toronto Pearson International

    Las Vegas, McCarran

    Frankfurt International

    London Stansted

    Orlando International

    Denver

    San Franscisco International

    Amsterdam Schipol (ANI)

I'm a little surprised to see Pearson on that list. It's not the greatest airport but it isn't THAT bad. I've also gone to JFK and it didn't seem too bad either although my cousin's gf lost their luggage going back home from JFK so maybe there's something to it.

I'm suprised Houston International isn't on there. I don't think I've ever flown out of there or known anyone who has flown out of there that hasn't been delayed.

This list's concept is just silly.

The top 8 are probably the 8 of 9 or so busiest airports in the world. Thus if you have limited dealings with airports, it's likely that one of them was with one of those.

Face it, flying since 9/11 sucks, and it always will.

The airports I've been to on that list:

Cancun International - I thought it was dirty and our return flight gate got changed about 1 hour before takeoff. Only problem, they didn't notify anyone over the PA system. Only reason we found out was by walking around when we saw the gate we were sitting at changed.

JFK - Very busy, but otherwise, not too bad.

La Guardia - My only trip to/from La Guardia wasn't terrible. Only negative was sitting in the plane for over an hour waiting to take off to come back home.

Dallas/Fort Worth - I really didn't think it was that bad. Had a 2 hour layover there where I went to a Friday's restaurant. Everything went smooth with no delays.

I hate Vegas' airport, it's a mess with all the trams.

LAX is fine, just HUGE. I usually fly into Long Beach or John Wayne Airport when I fly into Los Angeles. Avoiding the mess.

Denver - I thought that was a great airport one of the nicer ones I've been in.

I can't believe PHL isn't on the list. If you have ever flown out of Philly on an 4-8 PM flight, you know what I'm talking about. Not only are the security lines long, thankfully I don't have to wait in those, because they have a bunch of employees standing around doing nothing. I've been flying out of there for almost 2 years every week on Thursdays and I have had less than 20 flights make it on time to my destination. That is with the 45 minutes that the airlines add to the flight time because it is so bad. You sit on the runway sometimes up to 2 hours, minimum is 30 minutes, waiting to take off.

Vegas' airport is a joke, you're better off driving to Vegas (at least from here).

You're right about LAX, it's just massive and pretty much always busy, but in terms of setup/lines/etc it's not that bad. Flying into Long Beach or John Wayne is definitely the way to go though, much easier.

LGA is a baaad airport... not only are there numberous flight delays, both in landing and takeoffs, just the way it was built is garbage... you would have to be a fighter pilot to approach some of those runways..

JFK is being reconstructed, so a lot of traffic trying to get in and out of there

                    I've been to;
                    O'hare
                    LAX
                    San Franscisco International

They didn't seem any better or worse than any other airports I've been to but if you've only traveled during Christmas or other popular travel times then I'm sure that your experience with big airports won't be the best.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Denver has a really nice airport, I've been there plenty of times and never really had a problem. Every now and then it takes a while to get your bags back, but that's not a huge deal.

Off the list, I don't really like Atlanta or LAX, and Dallas' layout was garbage too.

                        O'Hare is pretty good IMO.

LAX is terrible. Check in takes forever and the several times I've been there, it's been severely understaffed. I liked flying into San Francisco MUCH better.

JFK sucks *** big time. When I flew to San Fran I put my bag through the machine with my xbox, laptop, lotions, toothpaste, etc. Nobody checked anything.

I got stopped like a convict when I flew back though. She took out all my liquids and told me I couldn't bring them on the plane, and then threw them out. Gangsta.

There is nothing wrong with Newark Liberty(EWR). I have gone there so many times. JFK is another story, but EWR is pretty organized.
