I call every few weeks. But we only live about 30 minutes away. Since my son was born, we see more of them. To be honest though when we do talk, we usually don;t have too much to say. I love them but they just kinda talk about the great buffet they had. Then they're usually the ones that have to go!

It's just the way our family operates. We've always been close but still gave eachother a lot of space. Most of my family is pretty independent.


EG, my heart goes out to you about your dad. I am still fortunate enough to have my parents, but I still cringe when I get a late night phone call.

I live at home, so this doesn't apply to me yet. My sister however usually calls once a week to talk with my mom, and sometimes she'll call more than that.

I used to usually call and talk to my mom once every weekend, and other times if either of us needed something.

Now I actually work at the same company she does, so I see her the 3 days a week I'm in the office....

I don't talk to my dad that much on the phone, but that's more because he's not a big phone talker...when we're hanging out or whatever we chat it up, but he just doesn't enjoy talking on the phone for a long period.

My dad is a big gamer. He builds gaming computers for a living. So I talk to him almost everynight to see what we want to get online and play. We been doing alot of Company of Hero's and GRAW 2 on PC. But we both got COD4 last night and supposed to hook up tonight. Me and my dad have a ton in common. He also has ran a fantasy football league going on 13 years now. So we do alot together. Which I am happy about cause up until my early 20s we did not see eye to eye. Now I am happy we are as close as we are now.

I call my Mom every morning when I get to work. Basically just checking in, we usually talk less than a minute. Since my Dad passed away, I've done that.

My wife talks to her Mom 3-4 times a week. Her Mom calls her 2-3 of those times.

So you are a momma boy? I talk to my mom every day, my dad about once a month.

My father is my boss so I see him at least five days a week. I see my mom probably 2-3 times a month and talk to her on the phone another 2-3 times, I probably should see her more but there is less incentive to go to my parents' house since I see my father so often at work.

I talk to my mom online every day, and usually on the phone three to four times a week.

My dad I need to start calling more. We usually only talk when something big happens in our family, or in sports.

A few friends and I got on this topic the other day. The question was for those that don't live at home, do you usually call your parents more than they call you and how often do you talk to them?

I was wondering what people's thoughts were here on OS.

I talk to my parents everyday, and will forever. If I miss a day without speaking with my Mom, she will call the next day and say "did you forget me", I love my mom.. I', the youngest out of 5 kids, so I guess that could be why my mom is like that with only me.

I call my father everyday at least once, my mother about 3-4 times a week. I call my brother at least once a day as well. My wife rarely talks to her parents, but talks to her sisters all day long it seems.

My dad 2-3 times a week or so but my mom calls daily.

my mom lives in arizona and my dad in missouri. unfortunately, i talk with my dad more than my mom. with him, about every two or three days. i talk w/ my mom one a week or 10 days. although, she's coming to visit me this weekend for the first time in a couple years.

my wife live like 5 miles away from her parents and call them 3 or 4 times a day. it's kind of a joke amongst her parents. even when my wife is at their house and the phone rings her dad will shout, "ashley's calling!'

My granny thinks I am stealing from here. It sucks, she is losing it big time, but she is 92. And no I am not stealing from here.
