Oak it was a painful thing to watch man. Someone gave him terrible interviewing lessons.

i see "it is what it is" as just another easier way of saying no comment. definetly a sad coupout everyone seems to be saying .

its like, how do you feel about the loss. "im sad but it is what it is." (its a self explanatory phrasing for something thats painfully obvious imo). i mean what do you expect them to say, "it was a painfully bad effort. we lost. we blew our blocking schemes. We messed up.." isnt that all obvious? it is what is makes all that easier when the facts are basically already known.

Reporters ask the stupiest questions many times so this coupout isnt totally bad imo

Yup. I think it was a brilliant way of not giving annoying reporters a sound byte.

Reporter - "Dallas, Dallas...Payton just threw 6 interceptions tonight. Whadya think about that?"

Dallas Clark - "It is what it is." Payton's the man, blah, blah, I love him."

Dallas CLark (without IIWII) - "Payton sucked reeeeal bad tonight." Peyton's the man, blah, blah, I love him."

Genius. Without IIWII, teams and teammates would be in shambles.

Note- the above was quoted for effect. NOT SOMETHING DALLAS CLARK ACTUALLY SAID. Except for "it is what it is" which I'm sure he's said at some point.

Yeah thanks Teflon John thanks. I hate that phrase and it almost makes my ears bleed every time someone says it.

A lot of people are getting classes from Media experts or they see someone on TV say one of these dimwitted comments and then they latch on. It doesn't make people sound more intelligent when they use the same phrase over and over again in the same interview, back to back interviews, or when ever they open their mouth. When everyone says the same catch phrases or lines, you don't sound quite as intelligent since you're using the same sayings everyone else is. Intelligence has some originality to it.
