Even on the harshest "morally acceptable" level of punishment (an eye for an eye), that is inhumane. At most, the punishment for a crime should be equal to the crime itself.

While execution might be harsh; for the serial rapists and pedofiles I think mandatory life is wholly acceptable. They can't fix those people.

I agree. But the fact that many serial rapists and pedophiles have not been given life sentences makes this a real sticky situation.

I'm not sure if I agree with the precedent being set here.

Depends on the kid. That said, executing a 13 year old would be pure ridiculousness.

They found the kid to not be insaine.
He knew better. Our current society is pushing Pre-Teen and Teens to grow up fast. They know what sex is. They might not be ready for it, but they sure as hell know what it is.

60yrs though... I'm not one to stick up for killers and rapists, but 60yrs for a 13yr old is harsh.


Rapists will keep doing it over and over again. MOST don't get caught. The ones that do get off fairly easy. They don't serve life in Prison as do most people that kill someone. As for the rapists... Execute them all.

I used to think that way, until I started thinking how the victim must feel. Now I say give them all you can. Yeah he knew better. He didn't just rape, he kidnap her and did other things. So they added all those charges together.

I hate that people under 18 years of age are usually not punished justly when they commit horrible evil crimes. It is my opinion that anyone who commits to violent crime such as rape or murder should be punished severely regardless of age. Throw the criminal 12 and 13 year olds in prison with other rapists, murderers, kidnappers, and pedofiles.

Does the punishment fit the crime? IMO..Yes, it does.

What does it say if they went light on this sentencing, only to follow the flawed pattern of the past?

Inmates don't take to rape very well - especially to kids. This little bastard will be the closest thing to a woman some of these dudes will have seen in a while. He'll be getting his poop shoved in for a long, long time. Justice rules.

This is what gets me. Why is this the most harsh punishment for a crime like this? Never hear anything like this from pedophiles or anything like that. I guess it was the beating and stuff. He deserves to go. You have to realize that he kidnapped her, beat her, and shoved it while she probably was crying or pleading with him to stop. Good thing I'm not a judge cause I'd go worse than what he was given.

On another note, I don't think he'll be getting sodomized for the next 60 years. I'm sure after the first 20, they'll be looking for fresh meat. I do feel bad for the young brother though. Hope that there are people who will be visiting him for religious purposes. Even the worse humans need a chance. I'll leave it at that.
