Elmore Leonard - Read any of his books?

I read one of his westerns "Valdez is coming" and really enjoyed it.

I know that he wrote a lot of crime novels in the 50's and 60's as well.

Has anyone read any other westerns or crime novels that you would recommend?

I was thinking of picking up "Unknown Man #89" and "The Bounty Hunters". Both have gotten very good reviews at amazon.com.

Just wondering if anyone else has read any of his stuff and what they'd recommend.

His crime novels are good. Kinda funny. A couple have been mad into bad movies: Get Shorty, etc. But def worth the read!

I've read Get Shorty, very good book. Like any other book it's kind of ruined if you've seen the movie already though. And I'd really like to read Rum Punch but once again I've seen Jackie Brown already.

If you like detective stuff you should look for Raymond Chandler (a ton of his stuff have been made into movies, some epic, some crappy. He even wrote the screenplay to some of them) and also Mickey Spillane especially some of his early Mike Hammer stuff.
