Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
Seriously. Things like this used to be shocking, now they are all too commonplace. I didn't even think twice when I saw this thread. Sad.
And why is it that psychopaths have to take innocent people with them? If you are gonna kill yourself, fine, but dont bring 8 other people with you. Misery truly loves company.Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
This happened about a half hour away from me so its about the only thing I've heard about all afternoon. It's just so senseless. I go to this mall all the time and its so bizarre to have this happen some place your so familiar with.Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
That mall is no more than a few minutes away from my house and we had victims coming in to the trauma center at UNMC, where I'm in med school.
I'm at a loss for words. I saw VaTech, 9/11, all of those things - unbelievable tragedies - it's just different when it happens in your backyard, in stores you go to, to people you know. I always thought, "Yeah, that kind of thing could happen in New York," but I never saw it happening in a place like this. That's MY mall, that's MY store, that's where I would be today if I had gone out to pick up Christmas presents. It really shakes your sense of safety and reality when it happens at YOUR home.
I don't think there is a such thing as a truly safe place anymore. I think that has been the case for a while but if it can happen in Omaha, in Columbine, etc... it can happen anywhere.Originally Posted by Briman123

I carry my off duty weapon everywhere...but my Glock 27 won't have much of a chance against an AR-15 or some other long gun that are so plentiful these days.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
This guy. This guy is the jerkoff. Could it be any more obvious that a douchenozzle like this committed such horrors? I wish he didn't kill himself. I wish he went to jail where people would beat the living hell out of him for years.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 12-06-2007, 03:57 AM.Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
There are too many scumbag wastes of life that try to ruin life for everyone else. Its a damn shame for the innocent victims who were pretty much only guilty of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Another problem is these NRA morons. I totally agree with the right to bear arms. But a simple hand gun or hunting rifle will do. No need and assault rifle or sub machine gun.Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
It's kind of sad that the killer made it all the way to the 3rd floor before anyone noticed he was carrying a riffle. My thoughts go out to the victims and their families because things like this should never happen!Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Denver Nuggets (NBA)
Green Bay Packers (NFL)
Iowa Hawkeyes (NCAA)
Minnesota Twins (MLB)
Tennessee Volunteers (NCAA)Comment

Re: Omaha, Nebraska Mall Shooting
I'm not sure if we will get suicide bombers as much as random terrorists with automatic weapons that do exactly what this guy did...shoot up malls...schools...etc. Five bad guys with automatic or semiautomatic guns could easily kill 50 people each...easily. Who's gonna save you at a mall or an elementary school?

My girlfriends brother in law also carries his off duty weapon on him at all times.Comment
