    Re: Finals...

I skip class and I don't ask for help.

Hell, I've been to my Dynamic Earth class five times all semester (out of like 16 or 17)...fell asleep in three of them and the other two were for tests. I got an A- and a B- on them because the class is easy as hell. I know a few kids in it who go to class every day and still fail.

Am I wasting my parents money because I don't care to go to a class that I'm never going to need to know in my profession? I'd argue 'no,' because I'm going to school to major in English and I have yet to skip a class in either of my two English classes.

I really don't understand how people can let that happen. I'm taking 15 hours like everyone else, get everything done, and could go to bed at 10 every night if I wanted to. That's with trying to get two hours of poker in every day and screwing around online a lot.

I know, personally, I was left with nothing but bad classes since I was a transfer student and every other class had already been filled.

Plus, most classes that people consider real are the maths and sciences, both of which I have no interest or need to take. I'm taking Computer Science to take care of one math requirement, taking a basic math class next semester to fill the other, and then I am taking Dynamic Earth, Public Health and Bugs and Human life to meet my science requirements.

I couldn't give two ****s about math or science, or really anything that doesn't have to do with English, and my schedule reflects that. I'm taking a 390 level Comparative Lit class right now, an Intensive Literary studies class next semester and an honors writing course right now.

There is no incentive for me to take non-joke classes to meet my math/science requirements.

If you know you can pass it then you're not wasting their money but the people I'm talking about don't show up and are proud of the fact that they do no work and fail.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I'm one of the laziest people around and I've never stayed up all night to do anything.

                    Ah, yeah.

The classes I skip are: Dynamic Earth (the teacher has the most boring voice I've ever heard, reads off power points that he puts online, etc) and Public Health.

If I didn't know I can pass with at least a B in either of the classes (I think I have a B or B+ in both) I'd go, but there really is no incentive for me to waste an hour of my life to go and sit there.

Yeah I skipped almost every one of my math lectures because they were pointless. We had like 300 people and only 40 minutes in the class so you cvouldn't ask any questions and the guy went over the easiest problems.

Majoring in English by itself is already wasting their money.

Close to it, yes, but being an English major allows me to become an English teacher and that's what I want to do.

I was only kidding. English class and I don't get along (I'm awesome with grammar, etc... but reading novels/stories and interpreting them only the way my professor wanted to, well I don't like that.).

Do well in school. From what I've heard, being an English teacher is a pretty competitive job.

Very competitive. Being a male helps, though. I've talked to a few principals around the schools I live in and apparently, especially recently, there has been a shortage on younger male teachers. Most guys want something more financially helpful or more "manly" according to most of them.

I know at my high school, we had two male English teachers and about 6 females.

                              I love being a guy.
