I am not a very convincing person, but bottom line... I am the dirtiest of anybody here on the site. I'd like to get my name clean, and I've wanted to donate ever since I registered on here. Yes, I have excuses, and no, they aren't good... but they are excuses nonetheless, and I can't see why somebody else is more deserving of the money than myself. However, the same can be said the other way. I just don't think a rhetoric essay is in order for one to be convinced to be charitable to them; however, your generosity is limited to one figure, and in the spirit of Christmas, I would do the best I can to return the favor back to you with a full reimbursement.
I know you're doing this without expecting $40+ back in your pocket, but I'm the kind of person that takes people places here at school without asking for a cent of gas change in return; in that regard, I would feel guilty just taking money from somebody else. However, it is your call after all, and you hold power over everybody else in this thread (except for donators and moderators, who are donators as well).
This is one of those opportunities where you should take it when it is offered. There's no reason anybody should ignore it, and I am no exception. If I don't get it, oh well... no loss. If I do get it, my slate is wiped clean, and I'll finally feel like I'm part of the site like I've always wanted to be.
I believe an advanced "Thank you" is in order for any potential gratitude that may come my way in light of your appreciation toward this message board and others that accommodate it. That said, you're doing a great thing. Merry Christmas.
