This is my first new years not EST, in Chicago now. I get calls from friends and family and I'm like yay its 11! Pretty bumming New Years with my roommates all back home and me having work in the morning.My Teams:

Got home just in time to shovel before I have to shovel again when I wake up... yes I know what I just typed.

Was suppose to go to some big party in the city with the girl but I said F that with all the snow. Nonstop snow here in Chicago. So I went to a small party around here and got back about an hour ago. Felt like such a waste of time... a lot of people I didn't want to converse with were here. Pretty boring NYE. I went to my Uncle's house for the third straight year which is usually a great time, but this time it was so empty. None of my extended family from Fresno & Vegas came. It was just like 11 people. I don't mind that it's small, it's just that every year, it loses its luster.Comment

Intended to watch hockey all night and bring in the New Year with a cigar and a glass of scotch. Instead, laid down with my wife at 9:15 p.m. after putting the kids to sleep and woke up at 6:45 a.m.
Felt damn good to get that much sleep for a change. So the New Year is off to a rested start for me!
New Year's Eve is amateur night. It's the one night that people who don't party go out and party, and they make fools of themselves and are menaces behind the wheel on the roads. I want nothing to do with it. Plus there's ZERO spontaneity to partying on New Year's. It almost feels like an obligation, so it usually ends up being incredibly dull and paint-by-numbers.
