    Military

Did anyone else get calls from the military when they graduated HS. Seems like everytime I turn arround I am getting a call from the Air Force, Army, Navy.....etc. Are they that desperate for people?

I joined the USMC in HS. They really know how to work you... at least some of them do.

Was pretty funny too, once I missed a Thursday session and my Staff Sergeant came to school and pulled me out of class.

Guess he was there for recruiting anyway.

But if you tell them to take you off the calling list, they will. I remember when the Navy kept calling me when I was already signed up for the Marines. I was like get the heck outta here. LOL

Just show them your idea of body-armor and they'll stop calling you.

I get a call every once in awhile, it works out well now that I had back surgery. They seem less inclined to constantly pressure me about joining after I tell them that.

Or if they call and you know its them just say " Hi I'm (insert name here) and I'm gay" can't get you to sign up then.

I was lucky in a way. Due to my hearing I wouldn't make it in anything anyways, so nobody ever called me.

I think now they are real desperate. I joined after two years of college. I guess school burned me out a little. Ended up doing 5 years and got out 2 weeks before the world trade. It has some good points and some bad ones but if anyone would ask me for advice, I would tell them to read the Uniform Code Of Military Justice and then make a decision. I saw people get paperwork for getting sunburn (they call it damage to government property). The property is referring to "you". Its alot of bull**** if you can take it join.

I haven't got calls yet, since I graduate next year. But a member of the Air Force was at a restaurant and tried recruiting me and my friend while we were eating. They also send recruiters to my school all the time.

After I graduated I got a ton of them. Finally I just told one on the phone that I was already enrolled in a four year university. They stopped coming after that.

I remember when I was 16, I was just in my driveway shooting hoops alone. A guy in a USMC shirt comes jogging by, stops, and tries to get me to meet with him at the recruiting office later...They're pretty aggressive, but usually not too bad (at least from my experience). I told him I'd think about it when I was 18 and he left me alone (luckily I didn't have to give him info and we moved in a couple months lol)

I made the mistake of saying I would consider, so they would call every week or so.
