Everyone wants to do recruitment duty, its easy, you stay at home and you get to boss other people around. Thats one reason they are aggressive, more people the longer you stay and don't get shipped god knows where.

I never got very many calls. I guess flirting with the recruiter when he called put an end to that quickly.

A ton. Give them any idea you are interested even if just being nice and they are all over you. I was heading into the store and some guys in a car stopped me and asked me about joining. Plus when they come to your high school too? Just crazy. They pray on certain kids.

I'm still getting letters from them when I graduated in 2006 and I wouldn't even be able to join if I wanted to because I have asthma.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yeah I didn't want to be rude so I said that it was ok if he called again and even after telling them that I'm already in school they kept calling. And the recruiters that came to my school would have these bull**** pushup compeitions and give out army stuff. They know just who to target too. I went to a really rich school my first two years of high school and I never saw a recruiter anywhere, I moved here and went to a city school and the recruiters were there almost every other week.

Did he get the Air Force to pay for his school?

He's not in school because of the Airforce and he's about to be sent to Korea.

Oh ok, I didn't know if he got the airforce to pay for school and then try to bail on the commitment. You would think if he gave back all of his benefits, they would just let him leave. I don't know how great it is to have someone in the armed forces who doesn't want to be there.

Actually, the military is so desperate for recruits now that asthma can be waived in some cases. Is the military making its numbers? Yes, but they are letting in more recruits with felonies, more recruits without high school education, older recruits, and more recruits with previously disqualifying medical conditions.

I asked a recruiter just last year about asthma out of curiosity and he told me that they can't let anyone in who has to use an inhaler and I have severe asthma(even though it's not exercise induced) so I wouldn't be allowed in.
