My 13 year old brother has one. After thinking about it, that doesn't even seem that young to have a cellphone anymore.

I don't have one either. This place I just started working at is getting me one. I just have to pay for the phone and they will pay the monthly bill.

I don't have one. I had one for a while, rarely used it, hated having one, so decided it's not worth the monthly bill and got rid of it. I haven't had one in about 2 years now and I've managed to survive just fine.

Doesn't make sense to me for pay for something unnecessary and not enjoyed.

I got one when I was 15. Cheap *** Nokia phone.

However, I had mine shut off for about a week and it was the greatest feeling ever. Having a legit reason not to be able to contact anyone or them contact me. It was great.

As far as age of owning a cell phone, if I ever have a child, he will NOT have one until atleast 15. Forget all these kids having one at 10 and 11. Not my damn child.

Why is that such a big deal?

I didn't have mine to talk to everybody, I had mine because I had football practice everyday after school and my mom wanted to be able to reach me so that she could pick me up.

I'll prolly give one to my child starting in like 5th or 6th grade, simply for safety issues.

If my cell phone ever runs out of battery, or I forget it at home I feel helpless. You never know what kind of **** will go down with a friend or family member getting into an accident. Or I'd be pissed if some girl was calling or texting me and I didn't have my phone. I need my phone at all times.

My son Kev is turning 14 on the 28th he has had a cell for a few years. My daughter is 8 and she has one as well.

I think she needs it for the times I get out of work late and can't make it to her school on time.

I can call her and give her an ETA.

my little brother got one last Christmas and he is 7. he doesn't use it to call his friends and talk about the latest Narutio, he has it for an emergency. It's one of those that you buy a certain amount of minutes.

Not sure when I will give my daughter one, she is 6, but I don't know...

How is it a leash? if you don't want to be bothered turn it on silent or turn it off. I would hate for something to happen and not have a phone to use.

I have the cheapest plan AT&T offers and i use like 100 of my 450 minutes every month. I have like a billion rollover minutes. I do use the heck out of my text messages though.
