Re: So What'd You Get?
To the people who get a ridiculous amount of ****....
Are you guys rich? Or do you just really go all out on Christmas? Or do you exchange gifts with a crap load of people?Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: So What'd You Get?
My mom just loves Christmas...loves giving gifts and seeing my two sisters and I happy...and my dad does make quite a hefty salary in order to pay for it all. The three of us (my sisters and I) usually get around 1200-1300 dollars worth of gifts each on Christmas. And that's just from our parents.Comment

I don't know if you'd consider me one of those people, but I personally do...

Re: So What'd You Get?
Well this year I got....
authentic Hanley Ramirez jersey
Richard Petty driving experience at the Speedway
Silver Snakes T-shirt from my brothers (LotHT obv)
Various checks/gift cards about $1100
some books
Sour Patch Kids!!!!
I'm pretty tough to shop for since I can buy everything myself anyway but I'm really happy with what my family came up with. Of course I also like giving presents, and I gave
GT hoodie to one brother
GT athletic shorts and mini helmet to the other
GT polo and XM satellite radio to my dad
GT coffee mug, coffee shop giftcard, and a new luggage set to my momComment

Re: So What'd You Get?
Damn right.
But no, it was actually last year that my mom finally decided I was old enough to find out how much she spent of gifts for us kids. She still refuses to hide the presents she buys in the house, usually keeping them in a storage unit or at a friend of her's house because when I was little I used to go find them and tell my sisters what she bought us.Comment

Lets see:
Mass Effect
Heavenly Sword
Wallet
socks and draws
2 coats (one dress, one play)
jeans
couple shirts
Not too bad for not asking for anything.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: So What'd You Get?
Halo 3
touch-screen iPod
Troy Aikman jersey
$100 check + $60 cash
new hubcaps for my car (I keep losing them, lol)
lots of Hershey bars
$25 McDonalds gift card
$25 Best Buy gift card
Probably gonna buy some gear for my guitar with the money I got; a black pickguard with matching knobs, some strings, etc. Also, I'm probably gonna trade in the touch-screen iPod for a non-touchscreen one with a bigger hard drive, as all my music won't fit on this new one; I'll put any credit I get back from that, and the Best Buy gift card, towards a third XBOX360 controller (I typically play video games with a slew of other people, and only having two controllers is a bit of a hassle).Comment

Re: So What'd You Get?
I also don't know if you'd consider me one of those people, but we're not rich. I live with my mom, and she got me a majority of that stuff. Other than my birthday, she really doesn't buy me a lot as far as actual items are concerned, mostly just gives me money when I go somewhere with my friends. I got way more than I expected to, the XM and stereo dock for my iPod came out of nowhere. I knew I was getting a new phone, Guitar Hero, and the shirts, but not the other stuff. She gave me like $125 on top of that too...I'm very grateful, as a good amount of kids living with single parents don't get near as much. I feel bad that I only spent $20 for her present.Comment
