    Insurance Claims Adjuster Job

Anyone here a insurance claims adjuster or know one? After college I may become one. I have a pretty good connection within a local insurance company and was just wondering if anyone here knows what its all about.

Expect a lot of hours, a lot of work, and a lot of people yelling at you.

If you can handle that, you can do it.

      Re: Insurance Claims Adjuster Job

I used to be in the insurance industry for eight years, including a year as an inside claims adjustor at St. Paul (now Metlife). I handled smaller property and auto claims --- and absolutely hated it. Like EG said, it's a lot of hours and no one that you talk to will be in a good mood. Everyone wants a ton of money ASAP and they will piss and moan no matter what you do for them.

On the flip side, my brother has been doing claims for 15+ years and recently started his own home-based business as a third-party independent adjustor. he loves that line of work and his own business has taken off in his first year and has been very lucrative for him.

If you don't mind the hours and the pissed off claimants, it shouldn't be that bad for you.
