Hey man I hope you find employment soon. I was out for a few months but I found a job that payed significantly more with excellent hours. See this as an opportunity for better employment and chances to sharpen your interview skills.

Although I'm looking at another layoff in the face, I should be better mentally prepared this time around.

Tough news man, but look at it this way, in a year, you could be in a place in your life where you look back on this and realize what a stroke of luck this was.

Sorry to hear it, man. I'm in the same boat. I just got layed off at year's end. On a positive note, you can apply for unemployment online. I live in Illinois too and I completed the process last week. It takes 15 minutes. I love the fact that I didn't have to make that dreaded trip to the unemployment office. Good luck.

What kind of work did you do?

Spent 10 years in technology/network sales (bandwidth, Frame Relay, Private Lines, etc). More recently, I've worked in the stock photography industry licensing imagery for commercial and editorial use to publishers, corporations, and ad agencies.

The company that I worked at in 2005 and 2006, and half of 2007 supplies most if not all of the imagery that you see in EA Sports games and on the covers. MVP, FIFA, Madden. Those shots all came from my former employer. Who knows, I may end up back there

Hey man, that sucks really bad. I am 16 thank God I haven't had to get a job yet. But both my parents lost there job last year due to WTO trading there job over to India.That sucked for them so good luck trying to find a new job hope everything works out for you.:wink:

Tuesday-Nurse the tough hangover.

Wednesday-My company eliminates 50% of the staff including me.

Maybe on Sunday the Cowboys will get slammed by the Giants to top everything off.

Looks like the PS3 and tMLB The Show will go on hold.
