Well, he had a stroke a couple of weeks before our wedding was to take place. My grandmother found in him the bathroom laying on the floor unconscious when my uncle called. I was a little hurt because I know how debilitating a stroke can be. Thank goodness for the medical coverage in Canada. They took care of him. He was getting better. My wife and I went up there for Thanksgiving last year and saw him. He still wasn't talking and his right side was numb. He didn't look like he was enjoying himself. He loved to be on the move all the time.
My grandmother had been taken it easy. I can really understand how she felt to see her best friend suffering. My grandmother is a retired nurse too so she was at the hospital almost everyday helping him be more comfortable. I could sense his time was coming down to an end. I got the call on Sabbath and kind of felt a little down. I guess I needed to air out a little bit of this. I never got to really go one-on-one with my grandfather over just knowing his history or how he thinks. He was a funny guy. Everytime I think of him, I can imagine hearing his laugh and voice. It's kind of hard too because I just got a job the same day he passed and I heard that the funeral is next week Thursday/Friday. It's still up for debate. Don't want to take off already but this is family. If you pray, please send one up for my family as we go through this trying time. My father hasn't been himself it seems. His steps seem a bit slower than usual. Just need a little support and positivity right now. Send me a couple of pms if you have a chance. Chat with me on im if you're available so I can kind of take my mind off the pain.
My wife and I are considering taking off the whole week so that we can be supportive for my grandmother and the rest of the family. Hope that my job understands. We'll see.......

Your family and you are in my thoughts.
