22 degrees, feels like 7 with the wind chill in Beantown. Felt like 1 degree this morning.

its so cold here right now that my thermometer just hopped off my deck and said "**** this, I'm outta here!"

Its cold... and we are getting ready for up to a half inch of ice.

Was -55 celcius last week. (-67 Fahrenheit for you Americans). Today it's only -11 (12). Talk about inconsistent...

wow, does that mean like if you just literally open a door or something, you get instant frostbite?

I read all these low temps posted and I laugh, why?

Because I actually had to run my central air AC the last few days, it was too warm in my home.

At least i'm not living in the Prairies. I don't know how some people can manage in -50 windchill in the winter.
Yeah, check my location. From Wikipedia:

"Winnipeg lies exposed to numerous weather systems including cold Arctic high pressure systems. From December through January the maximum daily temperature exceeds 0 °C (32 °F), on average, for only 10 days and the minimum daily temperature falls below -20 °C (-4 °F) on 49 days. Cold weather and snow will occasionally extend into April, although in general the winter weather begins to moderate in late February or early March. The coldest temperature ever recorded at Winnipeg was -47.8 °C (-54.0 °F), on December 24, 1879. The coldest temperature during the last 25 years was -41.7 °C (-43.1 °F) on February 5, 2007 [2] The coldest wind chill reading ever recorded was -57.1 °C (-70.8 °F) on February 1, 1996. According to Environment Canada, Winnipeg is the coldest city in the world with a population of over 600,000.[3]"

Although it's actually quite nice right now. With the wind chill it's only -29 celcius!

Pretty much. You just have to be smart with the weather. You can't leave uncovered, make sure your car is started, etc, etc. Of course, we still had school and everything went on as usual. I believe the only tragedy was of two little boys who froze to death because their father was drunk and let them outside. Very sad.
