Satellite Internet
I'm checking around for alternative ways to get High Speed internet and I ran across Satellite internet run by DirectTV. I was wondering if this would be reliable, fast, and good for gaming on my xbox. Once I heard satellite was pretty slow but that was awhile ago.

Re: Satellite Internet
I've heard it isn't good for gaming purposes. I believe it has to do with the signal being sent to the satellite, then returned back to your dish...or something to that effect. I believe it's "ping"
In other words....you'll have really bad lag. Now...this is just what I've heard,I would suggest maybe doing a google search for "satellite gaming" or something along those lines.
Here's a small bit of info for ya.....
The search engine that helps you find exactly what you're looking for. Find the most relevant information, video, images, and answers from all across the Web.
[quote]ummm.. dont know what those other people are talking about... xbox live will not even recognize your satelite service as a viable option to use....says right on the xbox.com when it lists high speed providers, "satelite ISP's will not be recognized(banned) due to high latency from objects in sky"
its okay for other things due to its ability to keep sending info till it receives everything....not acceptable for playing multiplayer...[quote]Last edited by Kramer5150; 02-15-2008, 12:30 AM.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert
