Have u ever been fired?

I was fired twice (not as bad as it sounds):

1. I was working at a small advertising agency as a graphic designer/graphic artist. It was my first "serious" graphic design job. It was at a small company (and not that successful) and after 5 months they told me they don't have enough work and can't keep me hired. But I got a GREAT recommendation, which helped me get my next job (which was the next firing)

2. That next job was BAD!!! I was hired again as a graphic designer in a small advertising agency (real small!) and the manager or president or whatever u wanna call it (how can u call a president to some1 who runs a company of 4-5 people?) was a horrible man. there was another graphic designer there, but I didn't know that then, that actually they were looking some1 to replace him because he couldn't stand working under that man. I mean, didn't know why he was leaving but after a few days he kinda told me, or not really told me but I could see how his behavior changed every time the guy got into the studio (where we used to seat). Man, he was horrible! No matter what u do - he alwas got angry and and instead of telling u directly: "I don't know what to do with u" - he used to say it while sighing and that drove me nuts!!! And he always was angry, never seen him in a good mood, not even 1 time! If there was 1 single day that I didn't have to see him - I considered this day as one of the best days at work.
Anyway, he fired me after a month (thank god!) and I would have probably quit not a long time after that if he didn't.
After that I got a job at the biggest advertising agency in my country and things got better...

Well, my manager and I had a little disagreement one night..

He proceeds to go: "This will probably be your last night here, you know that, right?"

I smile and go: "Nope. It will be my last night here." and proceeded to leave the building. **** that...no manager is going to talk down to me all night long and then try and pull that.

Anyway -- never been fired. Well, technically, I might have been... I just kind of stopped going to my first job after working there for like a year because of baseball. Terrible way to leave a job, I know, but hey.. they sucked.

I was probably going to be fired by Met(Hel)Life. I could not stand selling insurance, I have respect for those who can do it, but my office was just so corrupt. Basically the "manager" got his job when he made an arrangement with the former manager to take his job, but then give him every premier lead and basically everything. He forced out other top sales people and then gave their book of business to the former manager. Then it got worse when he hired the guy's sister and continued the behavior.

In the end he finally ran off one person to many who went to the Regional President with a laundry list of what was going on. In the end the "manager" was demoted and transferred to South Carolina and his wife took the kids and left.

To make it worse I worked with a group of snitches. One day we were all bitching about our boss and one of two possible bitches ran to the manager thereafter telling him everything we said. It was just a horrible, horrible experience.

Eventually I was given an offer by AllState to run my own agency, but I backed out of that. I realized at 23 I was too young to do that. I mean, who would really take me seriously as a boss? I am sure I also would've been sued by MetLife as I had a good share of the office coming with me if I left. But in the end I decided law school was the better path.

I've never been fired from a job, but I have fired a few people in my time.

Yes I have actually been out of work for the past month after beng let go cause I took to long to fire one of my agents...

However the real story was my supervisor was an idiot and he used me as a scapegoat for his low numbers and threw me under the bus with his boss when he questioned him on it. My team's numbers were not bad enough to justify firing me cause I wasnt at the bottom if the stats so he found some other stuff. Soooo F#@$ him and his boss and knowing my boss HE probably wants too.

I've never actually been fired, I've left a couple of jobs and never went back, so I'm sure they fired me eventually.

I got fired from a job after I put in my two weeks notice, when I was 16, nice work power hungry guy.

I've actually been fired from every job I've held, the exception being my current one. It's not as bad as it sounds, these were all just meaningless jobs during college to just have a bit of spending money.

First job was at Sears in the Lawn & Garden/Sporting Goods department, I wasn't a big fan of working on commission. I put in my notice with the Manager and let him know I was moving, but he kept scheduling me anyways. As far as I know I was terminated, but it's not really important to me.

After moving I started working as Osco since it was right on the corner near my house. I rather enjoyed it since the staff was tightly knit and we all seemed to get on well enough. I ended up developing photos most of the time which was an interesting process to pick up on. Just to let it be known, most of the staff does look at the film you bring in. Myself and another staff member were let go for using a $1 coupon on employee accounts. I didn't think it was a big deal, but apparently somewhere in the associate handbook it stated employees are not able to use coupons on accounts.

Blockbuster was a completely different story. I'm not going into details, but the amount of drug use, drinking and theft that took place there was incredible. Everyone was responsible for the insanity there, not surprisingly they let go about 75% of the staff.
